Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

So.

Why did we cut Canada and New Zealand out of the loop?

Its real. Hory Shit. Piiiiiiissssss

I hope it makes the (NZ) Kiwis seethe hard, they threw a shitfit about nuke powered ships in the 80s which got them demoted to merely friends instead of allies for a while.

Honestly, India and Japan are far better allies than NZ or Canada. This all must be the strangest thing in the world to Russia who is just sitting in a dark room somewhere being like "Hey guys, I'm cool with you fighting and all that, but um - Make sure India doesn't get hurt... I...I love my big booty curry girls..."

Agree! Better strategic locations too in China and in Russia.

Hypothetical:

The US President makes an address where he announces we now officially recognize Taiwan as an independent nation, and we will align with them along with other Pacific nations like Japan.

What China do? Shit its pants and immediately invade Taiwan?

Probably yes. They want Taiwan and part of their national security strategy is keeping us off their border (hence why they got involved in the Korean War). They would send their fleet to cut off Taiwan the moment we gave the RoC recognition.

Joe wasn't kidding that if you ain't DNC; you ain't black!

Black man losing to a rich white boy in a blue state happens all the time. I recall a 2020 local election candidate from New Jersey Beanie Man had on his show was a relatively young black guy running against an old white man in a district that's overwhelmingly black/hispanic. He got his ass handed to him just like Elder did today, with virtually no support from his own people.
It's amazing how efficiently the DNC has niggers and spics by the nuts with race pandering yet in the end has made it clear massa is massa and they best stay in line.

After afghan I was hoping the UK would tell Biden to fuck off.

Strange for the Brits to leave out their own colonies though.

Do not like, one bit. CanNZ over yankz

Fwiw. Johnson just sacked a load of mps and reshuffled his cabinet. Has the Milley thing caused a load of chink assets to be ousted?

This AUKUS idea is great and all, but any security alliance in the Pacific that doesn't include Japan, South Korea, and, ideally, the Philippines seems pretty toothless. It's a good idea to exclude New Zealand, I think that they've been penetrated by the Chinese on all levels. Why we don't make overtures towards Vietnam I have no idea. Cam Ranh Bay is a great place for a naval/air detachment and an electronics listening post. I guess that would make too much logical sense.
RE: Vietnam, the boomers that make up our foreign policy contingent are going to have to die off before people who have never seen an episode of the Brady Bunch can reexamine things with basic realpolitik factoring into their decision making.

US forces would essentially need to be in place before then if that was to happen. Essentially it boils down to whose troops can squat on the land and thumb their noses at the others.

Of course, there are many excuses possible for that, i.e. training exercises, natural disaster military aid.

I would expect that if that were the case, the declaration of independence + the expected Chinese retaliation (ranging from economic sanctions, or blockades short of an invasion) would result in several Okinawa-esque bases across the island.

Some of the Boomers have had this weird thing where they don't want to admit the war was 50+ years ago.

Most Gen-X I know are all: "It's over. We lost. We should act like adults now. They might make a good trading partner and global friend."
