Boyfriend of 22-Year-Old Woman Who Vanished on Couple’s Road Trip Breaks Silence - (A)

The boyfriend of a 22-year-old woman who vanished in Wyoming last month while the couple was on a road trip together released a statement Tuesday, breaking his silence as he reportedly refuses to speak to her family or the police.

Brian Laundrie, 23, and Gabrielle Petito had been on a cross-country trek together in a white 2012 Ford Transit Connect, documenting their “van life” via a shared YouTube channel. Police in Moab, Utah, told Fox that they had responded to an incident involving the couple on Aug. 12 but concluded that the incident did not warrant criminal charges. A third party made the call. Florida police have seized the van Tuesday as part of their investigation.
Laundrie’s attorney said in a statement, “This is an extremely difficult time for both the Petito family and the Laundrie family. I understand that a search has been organized for Miss Petito in or near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.“

“On behalf of the Laundrie family, it is our hope that the search for Miss Petito is successful and that Miss Petito is re-united with her family,” he continued. “On the advice of counsel, the Laundrie family is remaining in the background at this juncture and will have no further comment.”

As The Daily Beast has previously reported, Laundrie has declined to cooperate with the police. Petito’s family last heard from her on Aug. 30.
Petito’s family responded: “Brian is refusing to tell Gabby’s family where he last saw her. Brian is also refusing to explain why he left Gabby all alone and drove her van to Florida. These are critical questions that require immediate answers. The Schmidt and Petito family beg the Laundrie family to not ‘remain in the background’ but to help find who Brian referred to as the love of his life.”

those are the good questions.

also was she last seen in a national park, if yes, why is the police working on this? they normaly dont do much about people missing in parks.
If she wasnt, why should he killed her outside a Park and not inside? now its in the media while a missing 411 would only be in a youtube video in 5 years...
Probably because of the other circumstances. Usually, the police would at least be involved in the search and rescue in a park, but idk if there’s national park police or how jurisdiction works there if there’s a criminal investigation too.

Depends, if she cheated on him his reaction makes alot more sense... she sucked somebodies dick behind the gasstation and he just went home because fuck that bitch.

Do we know that she was missing when he left?

well the first 2 make no sense, its not his job to call his exes parents. if she was already missing, not calling her Parents is a problem.

well the Police was called, maybe he was very pissed after that and they broke up.

I mean she’s an adult he doesn’t have to call her parents, but I can’t imagine leaving the person I’m engaged to and living with in Wyoming and driving home, and being home for ten days and not saying a single word to her parents or the police. If they broke up, it would make sense for him to tell someone, even his parents or the police, what happened. If she left him or something, why is he stonewalling the police? It’s just very suspicious. Who knows maybe he’s completely innocent but he’s not doing himself any favors.

The Parks dont even know how many people they currently miss. Its so bad that missing people in National parks is a whole genre on youtube...

why is he stonewalling the police?
Never Talk to the Police if its not clear that they see you as witness.

I don’t fault him for lawyering up. Anyone with a working brain cell should absolutely refuse to talk to police. But it looks bad lol.. my bet is he absolutely killed her. I wonder why, though? They probably got in a fight and he choked her out. I will be following this (and the Alex Murdaugh case) closely.

Staying silent isnt necessarily suspecious (tho nothing that hints he is innocent either), the police loves to manipulate the narrative during their "interrogations" since they do enjoy a good power trip so your best weapon is to shut up and only open your mouth to say "I'd rather speak with my lawyer present, thank you...". Its your right, they hate it, but its your right.

Im not saying he is guilty or innocent just yet, there needs to be actual investigation before any conclusions can be drawn...but if he is innocent, his reputation is fucked either way. Best he can do is get declared innocent, delete his internet presence for a year until this all dies down and people find something else to get outraged over.

Couple get into a fight, physical or verbal, she storms off and he ends up saying “fuck it” and heads off home. She ends up getting lost in the woods because she doesn’t know the area and might be inexperienced, or she gets picked up by someone else who kills her. Boyfriend shuts up and lawyers up, keeping his social media shit up so he can have access to documents that shows his side of the relationship, what was going on at the time, and helps in his case for innocence, without using it.

Honestly, if he didn’t murder her (which is still a possibility), this dude is doing things as smart as he can. He removed himself from the situation, and, upon discovering that she’s missing, shuts up and rides it out.

The theories people whip up are wild.
My 2c: the dude had absolutely nothing to do with her disappearance, realized how that would look, lawyer up and ended up looking bad anyway.

Or he killed her and is wearing her teeth as jewlery.

Who are Kylen and Crystal? Missing girls these spergs think he's responsible for killing? I think that's going a little far with the speculation there kiddies. True crimers tend to get really nutty.
Something about this is off and I don't mean the guy. They had a fight, they separated then he left. What about her? I mean gf-bf spats don't end in calls to the police. Apparently she got physical, someone alerted the po po and they made then stay away from each other, at least for one night. I don't think she's this cutesy girl bubbling with excitement over her van life road trip; no one is without flaws. idk, its weird but who knows what happened.

So assuming he didn't kill her even though this wouldn't be surprising:

Maybe she did run off and something happened. Wyoming isn't exactly densely populated or elementally kind. I wouldn't want to be wandering around out there. That said, if she took off into an unpopulated area he should have at least contacted someone about her possibly being a danger to herself. I wonder if she had some history of mental illness or something. You should at least call authorities and say "My girlfriend just ran off. We aren't from here and I think she could be a danger to herself in her state". Leaving it hanging isn't a good look. It's not like she walked down the street of your hometown to fume in Arby's.

Whatever happened the bf staying quiet is a smart move. It's not a good look, that's true but from a legal standpoint he's doing the right thing.

Maybe she lost her shit and he felt like "Screw this I'm done and out of here" and left her there. I mean that's cold and all, he maybe should have alerted her parents or the authorities but they're strangers, in a strange place (to them). Or maybe he choked her out, who knows. This could be like Gone Girl, she might want attention and thinks by hiding she'll get it but she accidentally dies.

Wow. Lots of delusional people here. She is long dead. He did it. Whether by accident, out of passion or planned, she is dead and he did it.

The fight they had in Utah was right outside the co-op the two murdered lesbians worked at. The speculation is that he killed the lesbos and she figured it out and was going to turn him in.

Found this under the trending hashtag on twitter (god do I hate the tiktok microsoft sam voice):

Apparently her last photo caption went from this:

to this:

Besides the fact that she went from small caption to an essay, the fact that the guy is tagged 4 separate times in the post is the weirdest bit. Some are speculating that it's because he used her account to post these.

Also I'm not backing down, I'm not saying she wasn't murdered but I'm not ready to say she was. It's 50/50 for me at this point and I think most of you fags have watched way too much true crime to bet on murder so soon. Watch the video of them as a couple and then watch the police footage:
Now tell me if you think this dude is the murdering type.

It's starting another Boston Bomber type situation over on Reddit though:

So many luls here, but not sure if it should go here or in the reddit community watch thread, but I'll leave you all with one goodie that is just such peak reddit my sides hurt from the title alone:

Wyoming's a wide open plain with forests and mountains in some parts of the region. It's an ideal place to hide a body, if you know what you're doing. If she was lost in the National Park and not found, her corpse may have been picked by predators. If he really doesn't know what happened to her, then it's understandable he'd be silent; he has nothing to say. If she DID wander off without him, she may have been picked up by another person (Wyoming isn't exactly the friendliest of places), or just attacked by an animal. There's just a lot of possibilities, and most come to a sad end.

I don't know if he did anything to her; if he did, hopefully he'll confess. I hope they can at least find her or some clue as to where she could be.

What an absolute nothingburger of an article, not that I expected anything more from the independent.

Journo: "OFFICUHH, DO YOU THINK THAT THIS OTHER MURDER THAT HAPPENED AROUND THE SAME TIME COULD BE RELATED!?!?!?!"
Officer: "We are looking into anything and everything that could help find this girl"

There's not a single correlation between Gabby going missing and the Lesbian murders besides armchair true crime detectives thinking they are cracking the code. It doesn't even mention what you said in your comment, that they were fighting right outside of the co-op the murdered lesbians worked at.

There's a subreddit with more up-to-date information https://www.reddit.com/r/GabbyPetito/

Doubt this is a stunt to get more views. Watched the body cam video, she's clearly upset and he's worried about looking bad, I doubt they could fake that kind of emotion that well. She mentioned she climbed in the van after he threatened to leave her behind. Makes it sound like he's threatened her this way before, maybe even acted out on it, for her to get that upset and freaked out about it.

Either way, looks like her greatest fear came true.
