Judging from the unnatural way those tips come, the possibility that DSP himself orders his whales to donate using socks in the gay discord server is high.

If Timbo is to be believed, "You know who" was never in the discord. All known discord groups were exclusively used for communication between Phil and the mods and excluding "You know who", most mods stopped donating after modship. More than likely Phil uses emails, especially since he has had 2 known discord leaks. His paranoia would lead him to want to avoid anyone seeing these messages, something that would happen in a discord server.
Edit: It's been suspected for a while that may of Phil's mid-stream breaks, such as the breaks to fill his bottle, were purely to message a whale to save the stream. Don't watch the streams but does he take those water breaks anywhere near as often as when they were memed?

if we're doing fast food stories, one time I ordered a 20 piece and 2 medium fries, and only got one fry. I filled out the online survey just to get a special deal next time but I didn't think of making a big fuss because I'm a machoor adult with a business degree and I know it's important to stay on good terms with people at the restaurant so that next time you go they realize they are in charge of making the food for "the guy"

oh fast food stories, I got McD's for breakfast a Mc Muffin, coffee and hashbrowns and pancakes for my kid, cause toddlers are like whiney screaming terminators...it can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with, it doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop... EVER!.
I got the coffee and the hashbrowns part. Kinda missing the key part. Child got the pancakes which was more important.
I didn't think to check the bag before I left...my fault. I couldn't go back cause it wouldn't be worth the time to play "Get in the mech shinji" the mech being a car seat but this annoyed me like it's pretty much the main part of what I ordered so I made a comment on the feedback of the site not expecting anything just point out how the main part of my order just didn't make it.
2 weeks later, I had long forgotten about it. I got a phone call from the manager. I felt like an ass cause again I expected nothing, shit happens in the moment I was annoyed I even forgot what the problem was. She offered me a free meal just tell the person I ordered from her name. I cared so much I forgot her name shortly after I hung up.

The moment I got my food I drove home as fast as I could after quickly and quietly muttering "t-thanks"
Once I was inside I started imagining scenarios in my head where I stormed up to the counter, slammed my fist down and yelled at the employees for their mediocrity, then everyone in the joint and on Twitter applauded my bravery for laying down the law with our got-damn corporations. God bless

Sorry, I was just getting caught up. For anyone interested in seeing the 'tipsy' moment from last night's stream:
Worth noting is this followed a joke about smoking pot with the $4.20 tips, so maybe Phil associates being 'tipsy' with high and he was referring to that as a joke. But it was one of those nights where his behavior appeared intoxicated well before this joke.
This may not be foolproof - other whales have done this in the past and they were not socks. ThePastryarchy, Rusty Shackleford, and Jakileez just recently used the pattern when they were actively whaling.
I think this is symptomatic of the only common denominator - it is indicative that Phil has made an arrangement with them. The tipping pattern is his, not theirs; he just suggests it and likely lays out the time frames so he knows when to expect it so he doesn't get duped by a troll tip. In exchange, the whales do a little to kick start the tips, and then shore up the difference at the end to save themselves a little money. Phil gets the goal, but he also minimizes the time has has to spend wearing the stupid shit he hates. The tipping pattern became a common sight during the vest streak once the goals became the most important thing, and OiC was trained with several other whales at that that time.

What he should recognize is that he isn't a SPONSORED content creator after 13 years of "work", which is fucking pathetic.
He got ran out of Machinima, suspended from Twitch's partner program, and no longer approached to advertise products like those gaming chairs that I can't remember the name of. And none of those things have to do with Phil having "integrity", I can say that much.
Literally no one wants anything to do with him, his tweets directed towards people in the industry are totally ignored.

@Piece of Peace's Month in Review series has showed us that he makes around $4.5k off Youtube every month, which is still higher than minimum wage. He'd have to actually tone down his exorbitant spending (and maybe run into problems with the missus, therefore) but he wouldn't go anywhere.
Phil cries blue murder about being in serious financial stress but it's bullshit. He'd stream for pennies and wouldn't leave because what else does he reasonably have? That cushy Microsoft office job is getting further and further away.
