So, the character of Simonla was
ripped-off inspired by a "fan" character Simonchu created by Evan...
Hi Simon. So, what happened is Chris- without permission from Evan, ripped off Simonchu to create Simonla, mostly because Wild still needed a fuckbuddy.
Because of this, the Sonichu "fandom" rose up and confornted Chris about it, hence is why Simonla was killed with a Voltorb...
...until apparently the retcon, where not only is Simonla still alive, but apparently 1) Simonchu exists in this reality; and 2) Apparently Da Twolls were using Simonchu's apparent expertise in explosive to kill his sister... for reasons.
As for the whole "Samantha" middle name thing... that is purely Chris trying to give Sandy a character quirk... I guess. And of course for Chris, his female characters have one of two settings, either "I'm gonna hatefuck your face" or "Use me as your skeet blanket, Daddy," and since Sandy is a bit too young for the latter, she gets to be the former... at least for another issue or two when she ends up hooking up with Uncle Simon and birthing a New Holland tractor.
