It is quite a miracle that Chris, somehow, someway, manages to even stay afloat somewhat.
Also, I suspect that the amount of e-begging will sharply increase now that the weens know of this debt.

That brings out a question though: Why does Chris not e-beg as much as he did before, and is there something he can do to improve the situation? (except for getting a job, of course)

My guess is enough retards donated to him already so he thinks there is a never ending stream of free money on it's way sooner or later.

Here's a game everyone can play at home. Text Chris asking if the money you sent (give a specific amount) has arrived via mail or in his account yet. Maybe act not sure if you had the right address or account number. Good chance he will text you back.

I went to high school in Missouri. In that state, you have to pass a personal finance class and/or test in order to graduate high school. We had to learn about all this sort of stuff. In fact, the reason it became required in Missouri was because people had no understanding of this sort of thing. Did Chris's high school not offer a class like this?

The CWCki might have something on that. If Manchester high did offer a personal finance class, he hasn't taken it, or slept through it. He then listened to his parents about finances. Bob was good with money, but either clueless about how much SSDI money is earned a year, or realized his son was a failure who couldn't hold down a job. Barb is terrible with money, see the court date thread for just how much she owes Capital One. In short, listening to his parents about finance was a terrible idea.

Do credit card companies cut off the cards when they sue, or do Discover and Capital One continue to allow the Chandlers to use their cards to pile on more debt after the judgement, in order to profit further?

Well, shit! That's another one to add to the total!

In a manner of a couple weeks, we've learned that the Chandlers are roughly $131,000 deeper into debt. That's just the mortgage + Capital One.

Let's see what we got in terms of credit card debt (for this year, at least):
  • March 1st - Chris buys a PS4 with a credit card: $540.00
  • March 16th - Discover Bank court ruling: $4,706.93
  • August 31st - Mortgage Reveal: $115,000
  • Sept 14th - Capital One court ruling: $15,906.99
Tentative Grand Total: $136,153.92

There's obviously mountains more in unpaid bills (electric, cable, etc), needs (dental, medical), possibly more credit card lawsuits on the way, and Chris' negative household contributions (legos, transformers, sex toys). I only added the PS4 debt because it was confirmed to be a credit card purchase, and I assume Chris has paid little to none of that back.

Is anyone keeping an accurate tally? The "Financhu Crisis" is some juicy stuff.

We don't know if the $115,000 mortage was made to pay for the Discover ruling, nor how much money they have left from that mortgage. It's entirely possible they are still able to pay both rulings with that mortgage, just that Barb was too lazy to do it before the court rules against her. Remember, she's old as fuck, she can't spend that money to add to the horde as quickly as she used to.

Every school everywhere should mandate this, I don't know why they don't.

Some people have pointed out before 'companies only sue if there's like a bunch of phone calls and letters and you ignore them'
If you were the chandlers, after years and years of phone calls from trolls and weens would you pick up the phone? It's likely Barb knew what she was doing by ignoring them trying to get it go away. But if I was the chandlers I'd unhook the land line.

"Your honor, if you look on the CWCki webpage, you can see that the Chandlers were simply unaware of debt collector notifications due to massive amounts of trolls causing STRESS on their end. May we have another continuance?"

Jesus Christ, I get uncomfortable owing more than $100 on my credit card, but over $16k?? Goodness. I don't understand how Barb didn't learn anything about finances from marrying Bob and being with him for so long. He wouldn't have let this happen.

Here's what will happen.
Barb will die.
Chris will inherit her debt.
The debt collectors won't really do anything.
Chris won't do anything.
The End.

Chris can't inherit her debt. Her debt may wipe out any inheritance he gets, but only something he cosigned will be his to deal with.

Your credit is stopped long before the point at which legal action is even contemplated. The provider still continues to make money both before and after judgment because interest is still being applied. Of course many people stop making payments once their credit is stopped.

You can't garnish a bank account that exists just to get public benefits that are by definition exempt from seizure.

You can do it "accidentally" (less ethical debt collectors do this) but I think even Barb is smart enough to make sure these accounts are locked up from that kind of garnishment.

And the mere process of going through a gigantic pile of tons and tons of garbage to find the few objects that are neither exempt nor worthless would cost so much that it wouldn't be worth it. Do you think the sheriff does this for free? Do you think the kind of professionals you'd need to do this don't command a steep hourly fee?

Doing a bag and tag on the Chandler estate would be an exercise in futility. That's why they won't do that. You can tell in advance it would be pointless.

That's the kind of thing you'd only do to the Chandlers if you personally hated them enough that you'd be okay losing money just to fuck them in the ass.
Better to just slap a lien on the house and wait for her to die. They know how old she is.

They already got it back multiple times. The Chandlers are idiots and they have probably paid minimum payments at exorbitant interest rates at least since Bob died. These companies have made huge profits on them already, and now they're suing them to try to suck some more blood out of the turnip.

The Chandlers are shit, but these shitty credit companies are even worse.

They've already turned their profit and now they want even more.
Are you feeling pity for the Chandlers?

I'm not an expert in debt, but as I understand it, credit card loans are unsecured, which means they can't take your house or means of living away from you. But once Barb dies, I believe all bets are off and the bank gets in line with the rest of the creditors to scoop up whatever's left. There is another credit card suing Barb isn't there? It's got to be maxed out as well, and I bet Chris will be defaulting on his cards soon. The house is heavily mortgaged according to Zillow... so that means OPL is going to be going to be heir to zilch. It's going to be off to the county home for the exceptional for him I'm afraid.
Dont think Zillow shows the mortgage.

What if they cosigned things? Wouldn't that leave Chris with her debt?

Almost like I said that. But I highly doubt Chris ever cosigned anything, he has never been steadily employed, and has been close to maxxed on his own credit for a long time.

And here I thought spending about $200 a month on 'hobbies' was a serious financial drain needing immediate rectification...

I can't imagine they've done too well with those loans for Sonchu III/the Ford Focus they got some time back almost certainly through money via loan sharks.

But I have to ask HOW in the fuck they could be almost $150K in the red. Hoarding shit bought at whim from Goodwill is one thing, but I don't think you could FIT that much stuff into that house. And while they may buy all their food, it's cheap fast food garbage so it can't be THAT expensive in terms of feeding bills.

Instant gratification.

Poor people tend to spend money as soon as they get it, hence why they're poor. Recall Chris recently, bragging about his credit increase being a "bonus" and immediately going out to buy stuff with it.

I know his :tugboat:has gone up over the years, so he just expects more and more money. When it's spent and gone, suddenly he's "poor" and can't afford things.

My guess is that Barb got some sort of reverse mortgage on the house.

You guys remember a few months back when Chris got a credit card limit extended and thought it was free money? Good times. That's why he'll always be in situations like this.
