10/04/2019 - Judge Chupp Dismisses All Claims Against Defendant - Take your Sperging Here

I'll admit, I'm saddened deeply by the ruling, but Null and several others have said this case is going to get appealed to a higher court no matter what the immediate outcome was.

Given Chupp's handling of this case combined with his prior behavior in other unrelated cases, I get the feeling that this was just him passing the buck onto a higher court and washing his hands of the whole thing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Chupp is rather infamous for having his decisions appealed all the time.

Stay strong and don't give up hope. We've lost this battle, but we can still win the war. I'm not even talking about a moral victory either, but an actual legal victory in a higher court. It's gonna take a long time, but these type of things often do. It will get cold for a while, but that could be a good thing if it gets the spergs on both sides to lose interest.

Especially with all the recent leaks and information that has come out, this court loss has nothing to do with anything that Vic and Ty did. Instead it's entirely about technicalities and Chupp wanting to stay out of this case as much as he possibly can while still being able to keep his job. Ty is a competent lawyer and knows what he's doing, to say nothing of all those new information leaks that have actively hurt Funimation and are providing to be a PR nightmare. Rial and Marchi have also killed their careers outside of Funimation with this, even if they've won this round. Any other company will likely refuse to hire them lest they end up dragged into a lawsuit as well.

The best case scenario for those two is that they'll be able to work at Funimation and be quietly blacklisted from almost every other anime dubbing company.

Worst case scenario is that Funimation goes under and they're out of the industry for good.

Whether Funimation gets cleaned out by an appellate court's ruling, Toei takes away their golden goose, or the most likely of all, Sony throws them under the bus and restructures everything under Aniplex instead, there's no way in hell that Rial and Marchi will find any voice work outside of the current Funimation regime once this is all said and done.

The fact that this suit happened at all has probably ruined their careers in the long run. They'll be considered too toxic by any company that doesn't have Chris Sabat in charge of the casting couch. It will get worse for them once the SJW cultural bubble finally bursts for good. And if Vic wins on an appeal case, they'll be persona non grata.

two of his wins were unopposed and for all we know Paul Enlow (his opponent in the 2010 primaries) was somehow stupider than he is.

Why is he stupider than Chupp?
If Enlow's website is to be believed, Quote: "In his eight years serving the people of Tarrant County on the bench, Judge Enlow has never been overridden by the Texas Supreme Court."

So, you watch Peppa pig & paw patrol?
You don't watch My Little Pony after Barney every morning?

NOT EVEN JUSTICE I WANT TO GET TRUTH

Poor Vic.

Don't like this outcome? Well ... Then speak with your wallets instead of partaking in an internet spergfest. Don't give Funimation another dime. It's as simple as that.

Pirate the fuck out of everything.
I agree with you and I personally will never give Funi, CR, RT, or anything else that is run by these clowns another penny again for the rest of my life, but this is essentially just a 'go build your own x' argument. That argument doesn't work. Also you have to remember that only a small fraction of the people that pay Funi's bills are KV or ISWV. The majority don't know, don't care, and don't care to know.

>buying dubbed anime bd's in the first place.

Welp. There's only one thing to do.

GAMERS RISE UP

So....is this good or bad?

Bad but expected and only the second worst thing that could have happened. The worst would have been just leaving one of the defamation claims and that would have been bad enough it would actually look rigged and corrupt rather than just dumb.

I don't think even the VAB could contain all the salt (and c o p e) that'll come from this.

You including Sony and Warner in this, seeing as they own Funi and RT?
