10/04/2019 - Judge Chupp Dismisses All Claims Against Defendant - Take your Sperging Here

The evidence doesn't support your conclusions.

Most of the "evidence" for Ty's supposed incompetence is based on the actions of Judge Chupp.

The evidence also indicates that Chupp is an old incumbent judge who seems to be comfortable where he is in the courts of Texas and his public record shows a history of automatically making rulings on most cases and passing the buck onto the appeals courts. With a case that's as bizarre as this, a literal Boomer like him probably wants to try and kick it down the line to another court and not risk losing his job in an election over online drama.

If it were a different judge, I would be a lot more worried and I'd start to question my confidence in Ty's skills as an attorney as well, but given what we know about Chupp, this shouldn't be that big of a setback and is more likely to be expected.

It's going to be tough for a while and the smug tweets from the Kick Vic side will be insufferable to say the least, but I think we'll get through this. At least wait until we get some sort of statements from Ty or Vic before you go reaching for that bottle of black pills.

Given Chupp's handling of this case combined with his prior behavior in other unrelated cases, I get the feeling that this was just him passing the buck onto a higher court and washing his hands of the whole thing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Chupp is rather infamous for having his decisions appealed all the time.
I think Chupp had a case returned to him right before the Vic case landed in his lap.

You including Sony and Warner in this, seeing as they own Funi and RT?
Oh I think you got me here. I haven't considered that before. I guess it would be inconsistent if I didn't also stop giving them money. Yeah, I don't know if unrelated purchases on PSN end up putting money in Funi's pocket or if money gained from DC comic books or movies from Warner media end up going to RT, but you do have a point. Then again, it's not like all of Sony or all of Warner were complicit in what happened to Vic.

These kind of "Morality-based boycotts" tend to just make the other side win because you don't get to enjoy what you want. Just don't pay for a Funi subscription and you should be "good".

This is dumb. Why are people dubbing stuff in Dallas? I guess it cuts down costs. The quality is probably shit, and the voice actors all probably sound alike.

The reason that they moved from California to Texas is because they wanted to pay their workers less and give them less rights.

The silliest aspect of this case is in Texas you can fire anybody for any reason you want with no reason. Funimation could have easily done this but they didn't for some reason.

Really, I was only asking because of Sony being Sony and how they've handled the situation at this point (ie not at all).

Kinda shitty that this happened but eh, I never knew who any of these people were before Weeb Wars started and I never paid for anime to begin with. I'm not that invested, but it's kinda shit that the whole thing just got tossed out when Vic was so willing to take it to court.

My only lament here is that this will just reinforce the KickVic side while the worst of ISWV will sperg out and naturally KV will blanket generalize the entire ISWV side as that worst minority. Meanwhile KV will take it all the way to the bank being obnoxious about how the case getting thrown out means Vic has no argument to stand on and has nothing.

Meanwhile conveniently ignoring that the people who practically roared time and again that they were looking forward to going to court did whatever they could to actually avoid trial.

The only reason this even bothers me is I guarantee you, I fucking guarantee, had this gone the opposite route and everything went to trial, the same people would be crying out that our justice system is rigged.

But, oh well. Looking forward to the stream tonight, and actually getting info from Ty and Rekieta. Remembering correctly, Rekieta did say during last night's stream I believe that if Chupp outright dismissed everything it would look super dumb and possibly even bad for him. Interested in seeing how this moves forward.

I really hope Vic appeals. For reference, remember Ion Fury? How ResetEra was done and locked the thread then all of a sudden the devs changed their mind and made Era just fucking lose it in an ocean of salt? That's what I want now. Because I'm sure the above will happen. Celebrations will be had, some will attempt to sweep it under the rug. It's over guys, move along, nothing to see here.

Then Vic comes back with appeals and they're pulled back in and the circus begins anew. I wonder how salty they'd get if that happens. That would be precious.

Poor Vic.

Don't like this outcome? Well ... Then speak with your wallets instead of partaking in an internet spergfest. Don't give Funimation another dime. It's as simple as that.

Pirate the fuck out of everything.
Yeah, there's obviously heaps better ways to cause Funimation and the whores and cucks involved trouble than sperging out on Twitter or sending bar complaints to the Texas bar about Chupp. The fact is, the legal system is unlikely to deliver a reasonable result here, which would be the complete ruination of everyone involved in the accusations. Just deal with it, weebs.

Well I do know how to torrent stuff, but besides that you still have a point.

Regardless of what actually is the appropriate course of action this situation I still think that it's interesting to think about this stuff. For instance, am I even giving Warner money if I buy a DC comic? The comic books shop has already bought that comic from Diamond. Would my money 'be going' to the comic book shop or would it 'be going' to DC?
