Of course we're still here. Despite the jokes and shitposting, this is actually a great place to hear differing opinions and have diverse viewpoints. It's also one of the last places where you can have fun and laugh at stupid shit without worrying about being punished for it.

Does that mean I agree with everything that is said here? No, of course not. There's some stuff said here that I find stupid or even down right repulsive.

But, that's the beauty of the KF. Unlike other sites that try to spoonfeed me a certain narrative, I'm allowed to read what I want and say what I want. If someone is saying something I disagree with, I can either disagree with them or simply ignore them. You know, kind of like real life.

I realize this site started as a place to laugh at lolcows, and that's what it still is. But I also see it as one of the only places you can actually meet all kinds of people and share all kinds of opinions and world views. I see it as the last big community that still feels like the Old Internet, one where you can choose if you want to laugh at something stupid, or learn something new, or have a deep philosophical discussion. More importantly though, I see KF as the last big community that is standing up to Big Tech overreach. If KF goes, then I view it as a true "canary in the coal mine" moment, it means the internet is truly lost.

The downtime is annoying, but that's not enough to make me go away, and I know I'm not alone in that feeling. If anything, these disgusting groomers and journo scum working so hard to undermine free speech and suck corporate cock just makes me all the more determined to stay here and keep laughing at their bullshit.

Josh, I don't agree with you on most things but I do sincerely thank you for not giving up.
