That seems like it would make a good boss fight in Dead Rising or something. Chris and Barb holed up in a crap filled house surrounded by a booby trapped maze made out of the hoard, and you have to navigate through the hoard while they take potshots at you with sniper rifles from the peaks of barbage. That'd be pretty hilarious.
Well in Dead Rising 2 you fight this guy:

And in Dead Rising 3 there's this psycho:

Yeah, please don't start the Hoarders Showed Up rumor again. I work in Reality TV. It didn't happen. A&E has nothing to do with the production side of the show, either this was a elaborate Troll set up or they, themselves, got trolled. And you can "Nominate" someone you think should be on these "home" shows all you want but unless you get the consent of the owners and their signatures on 'consent to appear' and 'non-disclosure til airdate' forms it is never going to happen. They wouldn't even put you in the production pipeline until those were signed and you know that Barb is never going to sign something like that. I've actually worked for the production company that does "Extreme Home...", the floor of the building they were in was on lock down and only had access through an elevator key because of credible threats made to the office by one of the home owners. They were very, VERY gun shy about taking on ANY new "problem" families and they would view 14 BC as a complete teardown and wouldn't be worth the episode budget or the headache of dealing with Those Darn Chandlers.

I wouldn't be surprised if Charb tried to live in a storage unit.
That was a 'thing' when the economy started to slip in the early 2000's, both for people who lost their homes, and for people who wanted to live in a place where many people were priced out of even the cheapest homes (Silicone Valley, New York City, etc). Every storage place has rules against it, and they aren't up to any kind of code for human habitation, but people would still try it. After a couple people froze to death or died from heat stroke they probably keep a closer eye on it now.

No I think one brother booby-trapped it out of fear outsiders would break in to steal their garbage and the other brother couldn't leave because he was disabled (blind I think it was). The end result was the brother who set the traps got killed by one of his own traps and the disabled brother who depended on him to bring him food starved to death afterwards.
That's the basic story I have heard too; one brother was an invalid, and when the other was killed by the hoard, he died from starvation or dehydration.

Can you imagine Chris with a non-disclosure agreement?
I swear I was going to answer this and say, 'No, I can't', but then I started thinking about it and it got really, really funny. The initial fight of "No, we ain't" and "But, Mommy, I can update my 'Yep, I'm on TV' DVD" alone, is great.

*sigh* I got it (I actually struck it out of my post earlier). When I posted it originally I had forgotten exactly what it said, and I thought it was more along the lines of they weren't answering phone/email from the producers. So now that it's been debunked several times, I'm going to expunge that DANG DIRTY UNSUBSTANTIATED RUMOR from the CWCki now. (NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW)

I'm sure weens have investigated how to spam the production company with ideas for 14 BLC. That's probably where it was started. It's not hard to imagine why the rumor keeps going despite what Marv says. Barbadge would make for great TV. A hillbilly hoarder and her insane, retarded internet trolled spawn? Christ, perfect. There's a reason so many "film students" come out of the closet to film "documentaries" on him. He does make for good viewing. But you really, really need to get him on board. And that ain't going to happen unless you offer a substantial amount of Legos.

As for 14 BLC: That thing is gone and unless they get work done in the next two months, it's gone forever. I can only imagine the interior and the issues that will continue to impact it if they move back in. Smoke stink, damaged structure, water damage, mold, etc.

So the dumpster has been emptied/replaced and there are now actual construction debris in it, but not much. There seems to be some fresh lumber by the front door, but not enough to do anything worthwhile other than perhaps to shore up something on the verge of collapsing.

There's no way a professional work crew would move this slowly. I'm wondering if Barb signed one of those shady contractors that pop up after fires and tornadoes.

Funny this is brought up because on Dead Rising's wiki site, it mentions how the fans point out how the S&M guy looks like Chris

Chris at a real party is a simultaneously horrifying and hilarious thought. Although now I have the mental image of him attempting a keg stand in a skirt. :cryblood: :heart-empty:
The only thing you have to worry about Party!Chris is him singlehandedly decimating the appetizers.

What's the status of the roof? That would be the major issue with them being allowed to move back in, as long as the inside didn't violate and building codes. It could still look like crap, but as long as it was structurally sound, had no exposed wiring, etc. they could still live there.
