So many popcorn tubs...

A lot of people consider them the worst possible gift to give. Like it's the anti-gift. Nobody is buying them gifts so I assume they just buy them for themselves and attempt to store things in them after they inhale the popcorn? Those things are stale when purchased too.

Is this to say there's a chance they may shack up with relatives?

I remember in the video to John Kyle (the guy who sang at Cole's wedding) Chris said something along the lines of the rest of the family had hated them since Corrina died. It seems they've burnt the familial bridges behind them, leaving a wake of bitterness and hoard-stench.

Nightmare fuel or not, at this point it may well be the best case scenario.

At least the hoard wouldn't be able to grow exponentially in quarters that small.

That greenhouse hasn't been tended to in years. Those have got to be plastic flowers in there. Bob you sneaky bastard!
The greenhouse was a lie. It was just a room to get drunk and listen to jazz away from them.
Bravo, lumberjack. I wonder if he smuggled his boobie painting into there eventually.

Personally, I'm still convinced that's just Chris and/or Barb overreacting. Considering they think anyone who doesn't sweep in and solve their problems is a naughty person, it stands to reason that they'd consider simply estranged relatives as mortal enemies.

But… that's exactly what backyard greenhouses are for.

All the best sheds have a really comfortable chair and a cooler somewhere at the back.

That's certainly possible. Sometimes it's easy to forget that Chris and Barb tend not to react as most would reasonably expect. They may well find someone from the Virginia branches of Clan Weston or Clan Chandler to take them in (at least temporarily). If that happens, I pity whoever agrees to help them.

the thing that interests me the most about all this isn't "will they survive" or "will they be able to get an apartment," etc. of course they will. their credit seems to be assy, but Rocky is still alive so I have no doubt they could get some sort of co-sign on some sort of living arrangement.

what DOES interest me is they really, ridiculously lucked out on the rental home in 100 different reasons, the most important probably being the amount of space. barb had the luxury of sending OPL out to retrieve hoard treasures because they had the space to put them somewhere else. when they move out of the rental home without 14 BC being repaired, no matter what option they make happen, there's no way in sweet q-sanding heaven they will have room for all of the barbage necessary.

and that means things will have to be given up/tossed out. do you think barb will want to get rid of her shit? i really doubt it. not when there's, oh i don't know, tubs full of lego that obviously aren't nearly as necessary as 36 boxes of expired candy canes or a variety of soiled, burned bed comforters.

tl;dr: they'll find a place to stay. it will be small. barb will more than likely insist chris gets rid of his legos

Yeah, that's one of the things that has me completely baffled. Protection board is for keeping the waterproof membrane from getting punctured while back filling a foundation, but I don't see any signs of excavation around the perimeter anywhere. Nor would there really need to be unless there is a lot more seriously fucked with 14BLC than just the fire. While that's possible, I don't see the fire insurance claim covering it, and again, where's the excavation? Also that looks like the old kind from at least 10 years ago or more. Maybe it's left over from the remodel that was done in 1986, but I didn't think the work done then was that extensive.

I'm pretty certain they've recently been stripping the walls and floor out of the kitchen (at least), so you may be right that it is from that strange four season porch out the kitchen. From earlier pictures of the back of the greenhouse it's clear that that protection board wasn't there in April. Even though it's old, it's a fairly recent addition to that pile. Where did it come from? And what is it doing there? (And why hasn't it been tossed in the dumpster where it belongs along with the rest of that pile of Barbage?) That's probably all just more of the many Chandler Mysteries.

I think we're in over our head. Time to call for help.

They've been buying Chris toys for years to shut him up, I don't know why that would change. That's basically the Chandlerian form of parenting.

If they have to make 7 foot high piles for it all, well, they have ample experience at making them.

These are interesting and all but are we ever gonna get any interior pics? I'm sure I'm not the only one dying to see what the inside looks like now after all this time.
There were a few shots in Chris' lego website album. Most of it was melted legos with some parts of the house visible.

So where are they going to go if Charb is kicked out in the next 2 weeks (which is very likely)?

I know where there's one that isn't being used.
Yet.

They could have had a brand new, clean, safe house. All they had to do was nothing. Just sit back, agree to what the grownups tell them, and get a free house for being stupid and burning down the old one. And they* fought it. They kicked and screamed and said NO! They were essentially handed a winning lottery ticket, but tore it up because they wanted more.

Keep selling those autographs. Winter is coming.

*Barb. Chris just tarded around during this whole thing and agreed with mommy.

Considering they still own the property, they might just drop a trailer next to the burned down husk of the house.

Nah, they might not have the space in their new place. Storage unit.

What I am thinking is way outside the range of possibilities for most people, but this is the Chandlers. I think there is a fair chance that they will attempt to move back in to 14BC when their time is up. Burnt, soiled, diseased, and structurally unsound 14BC. Barb might also attempt to sue State Farm for being trolling mean and making her homeless. It can't see her going down without a fight. Then sue Keurig. Then wherever they bought the Keurig.

In the end, if they don't get arrested for stupidity, they'll probably get a small apartment or trailer. And it will probably be Chris's home for the rest of his free life.

This will be beautiful. I hope it happens ri-i-i-ight after Chris finally sells enough dirty, crapped commissions to buy the entire Lego Friends line 30 times over.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Chris updating his OK Cupid profile. Things are getting down to the wire and he needs a Sweetheart from the Ground-up to provide him shelter.
