Wouldn't surprise me if there's at least a small degree of non-looters and scavengers going through the dumpster. Up where I'm at you'll occasionally get people going through house clearance dumpsters to scavenge for anything they think they can hock to a pawn shop or \M/ETAL scrapper for a tenner. Especially if the dumpster is sitting there unattended by any sort of construction company for extended periods of time. They'll take stuff that's basically complete garbage if they think they can even get a dollar for it.
Sorta a reverse Barb if you will.
Of course one would assume there would be less of these sorts of people in rural virginia by basic lack of population density, so that may not be the case.
I could be wrong but I imagine that insurance companies just get to it and proceed with all the necessary steps as getting it done quickly is beneficial to both them and their contractors. If this is the case, then I would assume that the Chandlers are either putting stumbling blocks in their way for reasons unknown, or there may be things that they need to sign off before the next stage proceeds and they're too lazy/inattentive to do this.im really sorry to ask this because im sure it's been explained fifteen times but what needs to be done in order to initiate the reconstruction? is it something that barb and chris have to do? what is supposed to be happening i am terribly ignorant of these things
Yeah, diapers are for babies, so he deals with his pants-shitting by using panty liners instead. That totally makes sense.I thought he refused to wear adult diapers?

Scientists say we're on the brink of the next Great Extinction. Whatever organism willsurvivecause it is probably living inside those fridges.
I wouldn't worry about that too much. The biggest fire hazard has moved to a rental house some distance away.I don't know how dry it gets in Virginia, but all that uncontrolled vegetation could also be considered a fire hazard.
When a dumpster sits in one place for long enough, neighbors and backwoods dumpers find out and start using it for their own household garbage. There's no guarantee any particular thing in that dumpster is from the Chandlers. In fact, given that someone has been opening it up to remove things, it's more likely that most of what remains is non-Chandler trash.I swear to God that's a Pampers box in the dumpster.
At this point I really wouldn't worry about looking for signs of pending reconstruction. I've given a fairly detailed description of what should be happening elsewhere (from back when I thought there might be some hope of 14BLC being repaired), but I got tired of looking through old posts trying to find it, so here's the quick 5¢ summary: Before they can start to rebuild they'll have to strip the damaged property down to the bare framing. That dumpster should have been long since filled with drywall and carpeting and suchlike. But it hasn't. Instead it seems that nothing more than desultory shuffling of barbage has been going on. And that is not a good sign.im really sorry to ask this because im sure it's been explained fifteen times but what needs to be done in order to initiate the reconstruction? is it something that barb and chris have to do? what is supposed to be happening i am terribly ignorant of these things
Lol. Yeah, I think you can say it's definitely possible. Regardless of what the insurance company does.Is it possible that Chris might eventually permanently leave 14BC? The home he's living in now is easier to keep clean and all that, and 14BC is far from being clean. I'm not sure if the insurance company will allow him to stay there though.
The smart money is on: "No."Will the Chandler's ever move back in???
☝ This. Given the lack of activity at 14BLC for months on end I'm almost surprised copper thieves haven't gone in and stripped it. Some of them have pretty slick operations, too, posing as construction workers to get in. I haven't yet seen any indication of copper theft in the pictures, though, so Chandlers' dumb luck seems to be holding. That or the wiring really is aluminum and so not worth the thieves time (though that doesn't explain why they haven't gone for the plumbing).Yeah but you get more tweakers out in the boonies, and they'll steal the copper out of your fucking walls given half a chance. I'm sure people more local could tell me if they're a problem in Ruckersville, but they're around on the other side of Charlottesville.
Work isn't proceeding at all. A competent clean out crew could have had 14BLC stripped to the framing in a day or two. Even the absolute worst case wouldn't take more than a week. It's been months. On the other hand, a full demolition wouldn't have taken more than a week to reduce the property to bare dirt and foundation, and that hasn't happened either. Nothing is happening. A little barbage has been shuffled around, but that's it.On the pictures: Work is proceeding at a snails pace.
That might also highlight a contributing factor to the fire in the first place. (which i'm sure has probably been supposed already, now that I think about it.)That or the wiring really is aluminum and so not worth the thieves time (though that doesn't explain why they haven't gone for the plumbing).
I can think of a few reasons not to go for the Chandlers' plumbing.
So is it possible that Blarb is sending Chris to go dumpster dive in the dead of night to fish out the precious "treasures" that was the hoard so they can restart building it within the rental home?
