1998 Platformer Glover is Getting a Steam Port This April - Love the Glove

I vaguely remember glover when i was a kid, never a game i myself owned but i knew people who had it.

Also Piko is a bit of a lolcow, he attacked some guy releasing a prototype of Glover on twitter with a DMCA then cried racisn when people started getting on his ass.

I was fond of that game. I shouldn't have traded in Shadows of the Empire for it but I liked it enough to buy the sequel.
I also love Plok and I hope I'm referring you nerds back to this post one day

Nobody played this shit when it came out, it bombed hard.
People who tell you they're fans are probably lying.

Oh man, chameleon twist, i unironically love that game. Along with the other weird and probably obscure 64 games like Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and Bomberman Hero

Not gonna lie, I didn't care much for the first Chameleon Twist. I traded it in for the sequel, and while I liked it a little better, I still think it was "meh".

That said, the mechanic with the tongue was neat, and I liked the bosses.

I only remember this game because of its awesome commercial that shat on FF7.
On that note, anybody else remember this commercial for the first Ty the Tasmanian Tiger?

Big ups to the ten other people on earth who played that fucking game.

It's true though. Glover was a joke when it came out. I'm sure there were plenty of people who loved it as children, but the community at large either didn't know it existed or thought it was stupid. I'm still glad they're dusting it off and maybe giving it a bit of polish, because the way the N64 worked meant almost every game was rendered at 320x240, which is a vomit-inducingly bad resolution when it comes to 3D graphics. It's always nice to see games being displayed the way the developers intended.

Why?

It's a borderline forgotten game and not a particularly great platformer.

I would have probably played Glover if it hadn't come out in late '98, after I had already become burned out on 3D platformers like Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie.

Plus, I'm certain I would have been disappointed, because Mario and Banjo set a very high bar. Come to think of it, I think the last 3D platformer from that era that I care about at all that hasn't yet been revisited is Toy Story 2.

Suddenly everyone played Glover and has the most fond memories of their favoritest game ever just like what happened with Klonoa the other month.
Because it's a lie. Guarantee you majority of the people that actually spout that nonsense are fakers/posers/imitators trying to act like they're real gamers when they really aren't. At most they probably heard about the game, played the original for like a day or two and then hopped on the bandwagon because FOMO mentality and they want to be just as cool as the other kids.

Easiest way to catch them in their bullshit is to ask them a very specific question that only REAL fans of the game would actually know the answer to. When they start to crumble and throw strawmans at you or move the goalposts, that's when you can walk away knowing you just won that argument.
Now if only Gex could make a return.
No. I like Gex too, but the 90's cheesy/corny charm needs to stay in the 90's. Current year would ruin that shit completely by using an insufferable "comedian" to replace Dana Gould and whomever they used in the Euro/Aus versions

Shadows of the Empire had awkward controls, but I loved it. I miss growing up with N64.

I never played Glover cause 9 year old me thought a game about a glove was stupid as shit.

That being said, I've heard it's a good platformer so good for it's fans I guess.

Glover was okay.
I remember a ton of Glover ads in comic books.

That's pretty cool. I never got to play the original. It'd be great if they finished the sequel.
