As corny as it sounds, I never quite realise how grateful I am for Kiwi Farms existing until something threatens to take it away. Null, I don't have any child that I can name after you, but I promise I will think of you every time I look up at the Moon (or a guy named Joshua).

For the time being. I am locking the threads of the most prominent members of the hashtag campaigns against us.

I can think of maybe one other thread that should be locked in light of this, but don't wish to backseat moderate. PM me if you want to know.

There's other threads to discuss these events, but don't. Just don't. Just for a little while.

I know it's not the right time of year for lent, but I may as well give up sneeding about lolcows for the time being. I'll talk to my IRL friends if a cow really does something interesting. But my time on Kiwi Farms is better spent in the off-topic boards. I encourage anyone else to join me there to talk about music or what have you.

even if keffals doesn't actually care about his thread and is doing this purely for attention, what this might potentially say to other people is if you cause enough of a commotion and have a big fucking tantrum, you, too, can have whatever you want removed.

however, because keffals is such a weird case, this may be the only "solution". seems like you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. not an enviable position to be in, but you're handling this better than most people would.

i dont think so, any sort of meaningful ddos these days requires either an inordinate amount of zombie devices or particularly disruptive requests, usually both and neither within the direct hands of tron skids.

This is a mercantile operation paid for by naive idiots that think its well worth putting funds into actual criminal gangs to justify the ends of knocking out a virtual gossip group. Remember that if your local healthcare system or similar service is rendered crippled by ransomware actors.

I'm just here for the interesting info, drama, and general fat shenanigans. I've lurked around for years before making an account just for the Chris stuff. So for someone like me it can be.. a bit overwhelming and offputting how rabid some people here can be about the politics and shit..

At the same time, it is part of the charm that people can speak freely, and there's so many different sections of the forum that you don't really have to worry too much about running into your garden variety white supremacist while talking about fat women that eat too much so its all good. But to a total outsider, yeah, some people are a really bad look here. If something needs to be done about that, I dunno, probably don't matter at this point.

the reality is that this is a no-win situation for the social media crusaders either way. best case scenario, they get the site kicked off every service except tor, smugly declare victory, and then their dog brain attention span gets roped by the next passing culture skirmish and they forget it ever happened. the major players will all either fade into obscurity or become targeted by former members of their own mob, and my money is on the latter given that they have that personality type where they literally cannot stop stirring the pot for any reason. but the community here is largely motivated by something a lot less knee-jerk and ephemeral than the temporary glory of looking like you owned somebody on the internet. the reason fringe internet communities cannot be stomped out permanently is that they have a deeper and persistent reason to exist. and that urge to speak one's mind and be free of censorship, being a fundamental human need, will always outlast the internet-poisoned garbage brains on social media who have been reduced to little more than headless ad revenue generators.

Shitposting aside, maybe the Tor exclusivity will be good for the forum in the end. I 100% agree with the suggestion to stop feeding Twitter attention whores and its something I have brought up myself few weeks ago. I also suspect a coordinated attack by bigger actors, who just saw an opportunity in Keffals, because the major lefty news site here in Hungary reported on this, which surprised me.
