I am so annoyed about how much these journalists get wrong, willfully or not. I would be somewhat understanding about their ignorance and incompetence if the majority of journalists where born in the 40's-50's, But these are internet age people with the ability to google and evaluate the sources of their information.

It's not about knowing the facts, it was a classic hit piece. This is what powerful people, organizations and governments do. Someone, somewhere called their Murdoch Media pals.

Samuel Collingwood "Vordrak" Smith is a former Evanescence stalker and failed British minor politican who tried to get the Farms to be his personal army against people he didn;t like and earned a thread for his trouble.

Being a butthurt asshole, he sought revenge by trying to fuck with Null's ability to fund the site, tried to get him in legal trouble, and teamed up with every other autist he could find with a bone to pick against the Farms to try and destroy this place for good.

He's failed multiple times and all he's managed to do is make an even bigger ass of himself, and if he wasn't the asshole to feed the idiots writing baldfaced lies about this place as fact in official news releases, they certainly cribbed from the same sources he cites for their libel.

I think that it's pretty clear that the NZ police had no belief, reasonable or otherwise, that Tarrant ever had an account here, or even lurked here. The phrasing of the request was clearly intended for the purpose of gathering technical information sufficient to identify anyone who resides in New Zealand who downloaded or shared the shooting video and manifesto, with the end goal of criminal prosecution.

What really chaps my ass is that every media hit piece in AU and NZ has implied that Tarrant was an active user here, and that you are somehow refusing to cooperate with the goal of obstructing the investigation into his online activities, when in fact, nothing could be farther from the truth. I don't know whether to chalk it up to lazy "journalism" or a deliberate agenda of misinformation, but either way, it is misleading in the extreme.

It's 100% wilful. Journalists don't accidentally miss easily researched information. They either spin it or are too lazy/cuntish too get it. They're doing both here. Every article so far has been a laughable hit job.

In Australia, at least, it is an incredibly expensive process to sue a media organisation for defamation. John Marsden was a wealthy man and won his case against the media, but the total damages awarded didn't even cover his legal costs.

And if they did miss something on their research or misunderstand/misconstrue something they saw, it's a 100% on them because they're doing their job wrong and should be called out on their incompetence.
