I've received a couple media requests and I've ignored all of them except one from The Daily Beast. This was my reply to their questions.

It was so obvious they wern't going after Tarrent with that request, they were going after any person sharing the video. All the NZ rags posting hitpieces on Null and the forums are deliberately misrepresenting the fact the the NZ police are trying to imprison their own citizens for sharing a video. If NZlanders want to cheer this on, a small part of me almost thinks they deserve what they get.

It's a huge deal because "deplatforming" is the hot new progressive/liberal buzzword and mechanic for silencing anything online people might feel objectionable about. Removing someone's ability to have a voice or get whatever message they have out to the general public.

It's a horrific video that most people don't want to see, it's also a horrific message for most people, something else they don't want to hear. There's already a massive groundswell around the world to have stricter control over what you're able to see on the internet, everything from political messages and news to pornography and sexual education.

This is just a lightening rod for it, something the shooter knew and wanted to happen. They're partially doing exactly what he hoped they would in his manifesto. Have a knee jerk reaction that escalates this social issue to a boiling point.

It really chaps me that they keep spouting that "harassment campaign" stuff - there is no quicker way to ostracize yourself here and get spammed with negative reacts than to fuck with a lolcow. It's the exact opposite of the site's culture - if you want to fling that accusation fling it at Facebook, Twitter, and Discord who tolerate and encourage it.

If you censor, doctor, or erase the video you fuel the fire of conspiracy theories. It's irrefutable proof it happened. With all the reeing they do about Sandy Hook truthers you'd think they'd understand this by now.

Traditional media is only this cheap and desperate because they're losing audience like crazy and constantly walking the line of bankruptcy. Meanwhile us interactive online social media are growing steadily since the 90s. It's no wonder they rabidly jump at the opportunity to attack us with all they have when the opportunity shows itself.

I bet it's hard keeping any journalistic integrity when no one cares about what you have to say anymore. Oh well, maybe you shouldn't have manipulated public opinion for as long as you did, and people would still take you seriously...

Which, as chance would have it, is exactly what they're dong right now (and so many times before) when they try to paint KF as a villanous mastermind of death and destruction, which couldn't be farther from the truth.

They didn't really ask any questions that they couldn't just find looking up Kiwifarms and looking for your own words.

While that's true, the fact that they even knew to ask those specific questions suggests that they did do some digging beforehand. The questions show some actual investigative work.

They'll probably just cherry-pick quotes for their article to make Null sound like a monster, like all the others. But for now, they have my respect.
