Fair use criticism: Its a dumb and orange 'do not steal'.

I have to wonder if brandprotection @ mm.lego.com isn't assigned to a single person but is instead the generic alias used by Lego's IP staff.

Could be. I've worked in that manner. I'm not a lawyer but I was handling customers and other people had access and possibility to respond.

In other Lego-related news, it seems that Lego's "playing" with DMCA claims now.

First it was Hollywood studios playing with DMCA claims, then Take Two joined in the fun with PIs to threaten people (OpenIV and SupMatto ring any bells?), then Nintendo's been DMCAing ROM sharing sites (especially if they target older console generations) since the Switch launched, now Lego's joining in.
I also forgot that recently, there was a ring of Italians using WhatsApp and Telegram to share copies of newspaper publications that the police there are investigating too. http://archive.fo/KW8Kp Also, they're looking for the downoaders to sue them, too. Another industry to add to the list?
What is it with these industries abusing DMCA claims in desperate times? It's like scammers during bear economies.
