Do you want an answer or is this more of a rhetorical question?
I can answer, I hope that I am not being off-putting.
Well a "conservative" generally supports social heirarchy and binary, heteronormative gender roles. And their ideologies and values dictate a timeline to maturity and deadlines to accomplish particular milestones.
For example, a young man who is unmarried and is not financially on his own, is not fulfilling his role in society, in the mind of the old codger, who was raised in White-America, in the 1950's
If this is your view, the young man who lives with his mother is a non-contributor and a mooch, and drifting away from a socially proscribed role, because it is so.
Total, absolute and complete hooey. But these minds are fossilized in a world in which that was an economic posibility for the older generation and the younger generation to part ways and afford two separate homes with their incomes.
At this point I am not discussing Josh and his mother as that is none of my f×ing business. I am just answering a question.
There are so many ways, in which their model is unsustainable, and archaic at this point. It would also be lovely for many American parents, to be in the economic position, to even age and retire, alone, in their own homes. So for some people, sure they live in the basement or attic or family room, because they have put their parents and siblings in the bedrooms.
Anyway way OT.
