2025-03-26 - OFCOM: "Advisory Letter: illegal content risk assessments - your duties under the Online Safety Act 2023"

Nice of them to ask you to perform an “illegal” content risk assessment 9 days after it’s due.
In an age of digital instantaneous messaging is it fair to think there is a good chance the belated email is a sign there might be some legal action to come in the near future? If it was merely advisory and benevolent in nature one would think it would of been sent before the initial deadline.

Since I imagine the Bongs' fascist government will be reading this thread, I wish them to know that I am an American and I believe, based on all evidence, that their King is a disgusting pedophilic lich and I genuinely hope he dies the most painful natural death possible - ideally, in my opinion, he would have a stroke and drown in a puddle of his own piss and shit, much like his fellow tyrant Josef Stalin did.

Cool, show us the stats for London

Inshallah brother, for not cooperating with us you now owe 15 gorillion pounds that WILL be given to mudslimes + your whole family raped and murdered.

Cheerio, good chap.

These questions have already been answered elsewhere on the site, from crises more significant than this. Part of the community expectations is getting up to speed with just a little research on your part in regards to these matters. You can certainly ask already answered questions, but don't be flustered when you get snark back.

I appreciate the responses. I was aware of the other incidents, though none from what I am aware of, were concerning this level of Britishness and so high-up.
The other side of it is people who hate the farms will latch on to the Brit government to help try and bring down the farms. Being vigilant is key.

...risk assessment?
What the fuck does that even mean? Are they telling you to keep track of every single potential possible thing that could go wrong on your site? Do you have to do it on a year by year basis? What the fuck is wrong with that shithole country?

but I think so far this is just sabre rattling with a remarkably small and shitty sabre
Well said!
If anyone will be affected, it will be users based in the UK, because there's no tangible way the regulations can warrant fines to the operator of Kiwifarms.
And if they do block access to UK IPs... They only need to use a VPN. I'm laying it out flat so the bumlickers working under Ofcom can understand it, there's nothing illegal about accessing kiwifarms, this rule only applies to hosting.
Bring your worst, retards. The very idea that it's some sort of crime to access a gossip website is utterly laughable to me. They overstepped.

Yes.
I can understand a risk assessment for working on a farm, or in a factory, or literally any place where real harm may happen.
But we're talking about bureaucrats who have a boner for authority. In their mind there's little difference between getting your arm hacked off by a chainsaw and someone saying something rude on the Internet.

What legal action? Sao Tome was a Portuguese colony, far removed from Britain. And Britain has no legal power over Sao Tome afaik. Also the site is US legal, and Null is a US citizen living in a country not affiliated with the UK. The only legal action that can be taken is on UK citizens using KF. Not on anybody else.
