It's not about bending the knee to the malicious retardation of the all hated British Government. Come hell or high water if you want to have a website that can connect to the UK, you now have play ball with frankly unattainable conditions which are being enforced maliciously and with a certain bias towards smaller sites or risk getting fined (though I'm still trying to wrap my head around the UK government fining an American website). Larger sites and social medias that are international will risk ridiculous fines (though really just a pittance for them) for not toeing the line and as a result will likely become more and more restrictive for everyone. But the point is they have the resources to comply. Most alt media does not or are ideologically against this for good reason.

Failing that, we can all laugh at the "need an ID to have a wank" memes, but I've been saying this for a while, having your Internet activity tied to a real ID system is the end goal of all of this shit, and what comes to pass in Britain may very well come to pass in the US if people meet future proposals with a "can't happen here" attitude.

Not to rainbowpost too hard, but KOSA is effectively DOA. It has been introduced multiple times and it gets fewer cosponsors each time. The senate loves it but it can't even get out of committee in the house. And there's basically no chance of it passing this year with all the retardation the UK has brought into the spotlight.

The SCREEN Act is more insidious but it's also probably DOA due to UK retardation and Mike Lee generally not having any friends.

I would block the britbongs but have a landing page educating them why with a link to the TOR/Brave browser and the kiwifarms .onion address.

That way uneducated britbongs don't get arrested catching up on the latest lolcow drama on the normienet and they get a safe way to bypass ofcom's tracking.

Kiwifarm's TOR node is the fastest .onion site I have ever used. Video's load slower but normal surfing is almost as fast as the clearnet side once the browser learns a good circuit.
