The British government still hasn't got the memo it doesn't run the world anymore. It's exactly the same attitude they had during the Brexit negotiations, thinking "We hold all the cards", until they (slowly) realized that an economic bloc of 27 countries wasn't something they could easily bully.Edit: didn't notice they used the word "obligations" in there. In what way is a US based company ran by an American obligated to do shit for the UK government? Lol. Lmao. Roflmao.
I'd speculate a large part of this is the entitled attitude instilled by the British boarding school system. They're not necessarily taught better than the average person, but they're taught to expect better, and that has a real impact when a lot of real world power comes from acting like you have the right to that power to begin with (social engineering). That act gets them what they want until they come up against someone (the EU, the US, etc.) who has the power to tell them to fuck off, and that's when they get on their hands and knees and start to grovel.
