259 LGBTQ characters in cartoons that bust the myth that kids can't handle inclusion - "We're not gonna brainwash your kids", they said 10 years ago.

Aside from Johny Bravo, I don't really know the sexuality of any cartoon character from my childhood without looking it up.
Can we please stop in focusing on who wants to stick their thing is which hole in content supposedly designed for a demographic who can't get erections yet?
we can try but big tech & tumblr will water bord you in rowblox & neopets until you accept their pronous & thier sexual grouping.

So much reaching...why don't they go with legit LGBTBQQ characters?

Yeah, I didn't know either, and frankly I wouldn't have wanted to know. It'd just be confusing and feel very wrong to have that shit shoved down my throat at that age.

Man, I know if I were a kid today, I'd fucking hate Steven Universe.

Yup, I remember they referred to his boyfriend as his "friend" not unheard of in the 90s. You'd think he'd be on the list for being a positive remodel for kids, being a nice guy that always helped his students and cared about them, but I guess because it wasn't in your face about his relationship (that's the way it was in the 90s) he doesn't count. God forbid they have a gay character that's more then just his sexuality in a show.
He was even voiced by an openly gay actor.

Eugene being gay might have been something in the TV film from a few years ago?

Nowadays, it's probably for the best that you don't interact with Sailor Moon fans.
You jest with Chrissy-chris but the truth is, the Sailor Moon fanbase is filled to the brim with SJW's and similar killjoys.
Not to mention it is constantly brought up as an inspiration to all those "inclusive" cartoons.

I suddenly thought it was a Deviantart blog page, then realized that since they switched to Eclipse it's a black background instead of green.

Actually Insider dot com. I dislike propaganda because kids can handle anything, there is a reason the system takes away children from their family and community and forces them to attend school in their formative years. They are children, they do take everything on screen or grown ups say as fact. I had to tell some sub-10 year old kids that no, Siren Head is not real because YouTube sold them the idea. Sure it's an anecdote, but judging from the media illiteracy of adults I do believe that marketing towards younger people work as well. Letting a TV into the house who is basically a sales person was the dumbest thing humanity has ever done, but I digress.

Forcing sexuality on them is weird too. Sure old fairy tales had some hetero normative Prince rescues the Princess stories, but it wasn't about sexuality. In fact a running joke in Children's cartoons for a long time was kids finding romance and the opposing sex weird and yucky. Because they are kids. DUH

I will be charitable and give the benefit of the doubt to the gay crowd, if you are sexuality and identity shouldn't you worry about the teen and young adult market?
Perhaps you would be less creepy that way, unless the cartoons are in spirit aimed at the 20+ hipster crowd on Twitter. From personal experience I do know that the cartoon fandom online is rubbish, people don't even enjoy the art of animation but focus on cringe social non-issues. It's no wonder that all they can do are clones of the same show running a very similar style.

I already miss the early 2010s where there was a little resurgence in American Cartoons.

In the time since you posted this article, their pretentious database added a one-sentence entry on why they think this character has this sexuality. No links sourced, of course. I had to find the confirmation myself.

Sunset here was confirmed by Katrina Hadley, who worked on some of the Equestria Girls movies featuring Sunset, the first of which came out in 2013:

I bet at least half of them are Rowling retcons much like this.

Wendy, for example:

It's stuff that this that shows the representation soooo lazy too. Anyone can say after the fact, on social media, and away from your bosses that "Hey, these characters? They were queer all along!" without a trace of it being shown at all within the scenes of the shows.. It's horrendous pandering, but it's also annoyingly lazy. Actually have the balls to place your bets and risk your necks to put the inclusivity of the shit you believe in.

Like, Steven Universe: As faggoty as that shit was, they were at least consistent and solid when they said "Hey these space rock aliens are in a lesbian relationship" and showed that they were affectionate emotionally on screen. In fact, they had this big controversial gay wedding that they put into the last season of the show that was a major plot point story wise, and they didn't pull any punches and explicitly stated that "Yes, this is a gay marriage in a cartoon show".

That wedding thing, as stupid as it may be, was something the people behind the show bartered with heavily with the suits at Cartoon Network. And in the end, I think it costed the show to be wrapped up and rushed quickly as a tradeoff, when the narrative they had planned warranted another season or so of more storytelling.

It might still be autistic and gay, but at least they put their money where their mouths were in order to show the gay stuff forward and center, rather than just safely doing a Rowling Retcon on Twitter where it's convenient.

I remmber watching that. I don't remmber every seeing or hearing then imply he was gay? Granted it's been a while.

Also how are kids post to know that characters like Sunset Simmer are bi? If never stated on the show same with alot of the characters they listed.

The kids won't know she's bi unless they saw the Twitter post or some adults tell them. They'll think she's a bit of a tomboy but just very good friends with the girls around her.

But the fact that she was bi? That was pandering to the Bronies, 100%. It's to validate all the shippers and thirst posters who paired her with Twilight or drew fucking porn of her in lesbian shit.

It was complete pandering and it's gonna be hard to say that it wasn't.

That'd what I mean how likely do these kids follow the creator on Twitter or saw the Twitter post. How many grew up and don't follow cartoon writers because they have more important stuff to do.
