3-D Print General - Feeding Printers Filament

In his defense, I suspect he has a 720p laptop screen and the creality software was never tested on low res screens.
Ive ran into this, fucking retarded lazy programmers. Use a NVR program at work that doesnt allow you to resize it so if you try to use on anything smaller than a 1080p display its useless as many of the the software functions are unreachable.

I caved and got the Entina Tina2. It's a tiny little baby and they demand you use their own software (which runs as an appimage so it's fine) but it seems like it will run better then the Ender2 my roommate has rebuilt like three times. It's small tho, I had to scale down the windup car gift card thing i wanted to print to 0.65x

Bambu labs delayed their new printer to 2025 and said it's targeted at prosumers. The seething and butthurt is hilarious to watch
Noooooo, they were supposed to release a 350mm monster that was totally going to be the same price as the X1C, thus slamming all the competition into the ground!

Bambu knows their audience isn't going anywhere. They'll wait and pay whatever price is demanded.

Clear PETG is pretty fucking sick but it's also soul suckingly slow. 20 God damn hours for a 100g print from a 0.6mm nozzle. Spoolless is wack, probably won't be getting it again unless I
Seems like different companies have different inner diameters on their rolls, so I tangled a roll and had to throw it away. Won't be buying again unless it's at least a couple $ less than my already cheap choices.

Waiting on some cereal containers from Amazon before I do Nylon, was able to bully my dear old mother into splitting the 6 pack.

The best thing to come from the new machine they announce is discounting the X1C so the people who bought the Creality K-series have another option. I just wish I didn't have to interact with their Chinesium spyware to use the fucking printer.

Why would the X1C get discounted if the new printer aims at a totally higher tier?

Sounds like cope.

The only way it sees any significant price drop is if it has competition. The bambu cult, much like prusa, has made it loud and clear they won't even consider another brand. Locked in consumer loyalty means the company doesn't have to consider competing products for pricing.

So it needs internal competition, which it isn't getting.

It sounded to me like it was supposed to be an X1C replacement, so I would imagine they want to clear backstock. I could be off-base there, though.

I wanna get a new filament printer to replace my OG Ender 3, so as to not have to deal (as much) with leveling and all that stuff that's been (for the most part) solved in newer models

But Creality is almost the only brand they sell in my country*, and I think I wanna venture outside of Creality. I found only one store that sells some Elegoos (Neptune 4 Pro and Plus), which have me tempted. Are they any good?

*Some stores bring some others but at stupid prices. 3 or 4 times what they're worth. Only stores that carry the Creality ones, and the one with Elegoo ones that I mentioned, have them at reasonable prices.

Just get a Bambu A1 or A1 mini, you do not need the AMS at all IMHO.

The fucking thing just works and prints really high quality parts. Well worth the 350~$ I spent on it.

Just slap a Sprite Extruder and a CRTouch on it and call it a day. I guess that might also require a new motherboard.

Like I said, unavailable here, or several times the price. I know being in a third world shitter will increase the price but that's way too much.

Do you have AliExpress?

Sovol is a great option, and I believe Comgrow is solid as well. I'd go with a Creality over an Elegoo, but Elegoo is fine too. In your situation, think about access to spare parts

Sovol = Creality= Elegoo in terms of quality. It really just depends on who comes out with what feature first. I do think Creality stays ahead of the other Ali brands in that regard.

For sure, they're solid, but it's just about what looks best for the right price. Creality seems to be getting competitive with their fast printers and seems the most ahead, but Sovol is a bit more of a budget option with still great features.

I'd just only get stuff with lead screws/rails, no plastic wheels running on tracks, and no expensive nozzles you can't buy clones of

You're right about the spare parts, and again, what's most available here is Creality stuff. Like 75% of the market I'd say.

So if what I was looking at was the Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro or Plus, what would be the Creality equivalent I should be looking at in terms of features?

Ender 3 V3 KE is probably the closest equivalent. The V3 (core XZ) is more premium, and then there's the plus version of the V3. Downside about the V3 is it uses the proprietary "unicorn" nozzles from Creality (shared with the K1C), but I think it can be modded to accept normal V6 nozzles.

I'm not really sure as I've only got 1 machine (30kg+ printed tho), so I'm not sure what other stuff really costs.
So far the only thing on my SV06+ that's actually died by itself was the main switch that was replaced for free, but a 2 pack of similar ones is only $10 and pretty available.
Since I've made a lot of mistakes with this printer I've busted plenty of shit, but there's really not much wrong with the thing. I've also gotten lots of free replacement parts from Sovol even if it was me being a retard. The only issue is that some say the hot end and part cooling are weak. I'm not worried about part cooling, but it'd be worth printing a mount and swapping the head cooling fan for a 5015. Mines suffered a number of massive clogs or whatever you call them, which could have supposedly been avoided with better cooling.
It's basically a massive Prusa clone with a Volcano nozzle, so it's a pretty well proven and long lasting design.

If you get anything with round rods and linear bearings, take everything apart and pack them with grease using the rods as plungers. Print quality improved and sound HALVED. Should save money and downtime later on.

I pondered getting a new printer during Black Friday, but there's really not much else that tempts me
With a $30 Elegoo enclosure I can get it to 40c in my cold basement with ease and get kickass CF Nylon prints, and it's plenty fast for my needs. Nozzles are cheap and ubiquitous if you sand 1mm off the fan duct as you can use Volcano nozzles, and complete hot ends can be had for $15 on AliExpress.
Dealing with a one piece nozzle/hot end doesn't interest me as they seem to be $30+ and a hassle to change, and that price for a wear item is a bit ridiculous when a steel nozzle is like ¢25. I'm not interested in Wi-Fi capability either, although the SV06 has that and I did try it out with Orcaslicer.
I'm sure there's other solid machines, but for the size, features, and price the SV06+ with the Klipper screen seems to be it's own thing.

I hadn't realized how inexpensive 3D printers had become, I've become very interested in them for building custom tooling and very simple projects.

I need a printer capable of handling at minimum a 12"x6" surface area. This will mostly be for forming project housing boxes, and signs on the larger side 12"X6" max width/length of a height of maybe 1" tall at most, possibly some smaller labels 1/4"wide 6"tall font nothing "artsy" or really aesthetically that pleasing at all. Just something that withstand a few years of field used to labeling what a switch does. Ideally something with a short learning curve and easy setup. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Got my Neptune 4 Pro running after my Ender 3v2 shit the bed. The Ender was purchased secondhand from an old coworker (who had absolute SHIT cable management skills). It had the dual-z, CR Touch, whatever proprietary shitty touchpad controller, and Sprite Extruder.

The Neptune is far and away better IMO. I know it's not a top-of-the-line printer, and the lack of wireless networking can be bothersome to setup (unneeded for myself). But after building it and tuning, it just works.
