Does anyone use the Creality Ender 3 Max Neo? It seems like what I'm looking for, not to mention the price is right. Is there a higher than average learning curve? for what it's worth Ive been writing my own CNC code for years now. Extruded materials would be new to me.

I don't have any personal experience but I've heard a lot of people tend to have major bed level issues due to the very banana shaped beds. Not sure of your price range, but the Ender 5 Plus may be better overall since coreXY (from my experience) is better at being able to compensate for warped beds.

TY for the advice but I really need a 300MM x 150mm work area, depth not a big concern maybe 150mm tall? these are mostly large signs. To be honest a slight bowing effect doesn't matter if its secured to a flat surface for the project.

The 5 Plus is not CoreXY, shaped like one, but not using CoreXY mechanics, just normal XY. The 5 Plus does move to dual leadscrews though.

Looks like the Ender-6 is the first that moves to CoreXY.

I also have an original Ender 3, I slapped a glass bed on it and have had few issues once I stuck a leveling probe on it, standard issue these days.

The build volume on the Ender 5 Plus says it's 350x350x400, so it'd fit your size needs, but to your point it doesn't sound like it'd be strictly necessary. I imagine the Ender 3 Max Neo would be cheaper and if you don't have a need for any of the other features then I think it's a good option.

Oh damn, thanks for the correction. I've not actually owned one so I was mistaken. It's surprising to hear that your original Ender 3 is still holding up. Mine had major issues almost immediately that I couldn't fix and I gave up on it entirely, so anyone with the patience for those is a saint.

So I'm totally new to 3D printing and ended up buying a Bambu P1S with AMS. I looked at Prusa, but the cost was significantly higher if I wanted the MK4, and an enclosure. The kicker for me was Prusa's gypsy style pricing. 'Oh you want the enclosure?? Well the fan costs more, a camera costs more, and the light costs more, and it's a bit shit really according to reviews but PRUSA!!!'. The P1S came with everything I wanted out of the box.

Installation was about 30 min, and it's been running basically for 72 hours straight. Software is easy to use, printer just...works...

Can't ask for more other than a 'how much filiment of a 1kg roll have you used so far' indicator...

I guess you can always get one of those small scales for cooking (or weed) and weigh each roll before you start using it (taking note of anything over 1KG and consider it the weight of the spool), then weigh it whenever you want to know how much you've got left.

Prusa3D released the Prusa Core ONE with a feature set similar to the Bambu X1C, but with a fully enclosed heated chamber.

About damn time, but we'll see how the Creality K2 does as that seems like an insane overall value. Really the most printer you can get for any reasonable amount of money.
That said, with Prusa you're paying for really good support and a product that's had all its shit ironed out. Likely why they never changed too much, they didn't want to tarnish their reputation of reliability.

Creality K2
Yeah the K2 Is a little crazy for what it claims. I am very skeptical however.
I can't find any review of it outside of paid promotions. My main concern is with quality control and build quality issues. With a printer like the X1C, which this is more or less a replica of, there are a lot of things that can go wrong.

Absolutely original design here, A++++. We take the back of the X1C and add some fan slots to it for active heating.

lmao, I just realized they are even using the same exact wiki software for their online manual.

It's your average chinkery. I should fix my ender 3 after trying to mod it like a retard.

Hey what do people use for 3D modelling? I finally found Onstage which is free and I can wrap my head around it, but it's a cloud service and the free account doesn't let you private files. I've been trying FreeCad but I still can't make full sense of the interface. Solid Edge seems decent but it's Windows only

I am a certified lunatic and use Blender, which in my defense has import/export functionality with all the obscure filetypes that you can think to name, and the 25 more you can't.

I do this because I print a lot of videogame stuff, which is ripped in various ways. I also still use it for my own designs, which is perhaps much stranger.

I'm a retard and I only do functional prints and think in programmer terms. So I just use OpenSCAD.

Here's one I can share since I'm not going to share it elsewhere. It's the Solid State Relay box for my 120V heated bed on the printer. IEC inlet hole and a 5-15 outlet, fuse and hole for the control wire jack, but it's a snap-in outlet so I made a little flange to turn it into a screw-on outlet.

My numerous failed attempts to learn FreeCAD or Fusion 360 just result in a migraine, but OpenSCAD just werks. you obviously can't accomplish as much as in an actual CAD software but making a snap fit enclosure or something very basic is ez.
That's what I'm finding. OnShape is much more user friendly then FreeCAD (and I have more then once used the app to edit my designs from my phone), but I would like a little more control over my designs. I mean there is literally nothing I'm planning to do that I don't want public, but being able to export to .scad would be nice. I might try and see if I can make sense of it, but I like being able to do stuff with a few clicks.

I think I'm gonna get the Ender 3 V3 KE, but I'm waiting to see if the stores that sell it will have any good discounts for the local version of Black Friday.

So far, no announcements or anything.

Got around to fixing my Printer a few months ago. Turns out it was because I could not find the right firmware update to install for my CRTouch install. As Creality has several god damn websites about it and name their firmware versions the most cryptic shit ever. So in a last ditch effort I just went down the list with a test print, found something that worked under the Ender 5 category, and saved it.

I swear to god asking for help with this matter either gained apathy or some of the dumbest idiots who had to be trolling with a banhammer behind their back. They either wanted me to fuck around with the extruder wiring/destroy my extruder or insist it was a nozzle clog when it wouldn't extrude properly. That's if they weren't ignoring me or trying to sell me useless shit. I will never ask for help from this hobby's awful fandom again. At least I didn't listen to any of their dumbass sperging. Since they always ignored the fact I specifically stated it was a software issue. Couldn't even get a link to creality's official firmware hosting site from anyone.
