I feel like some Moot was just some Manhattan jew kid and both these guys were only figureheads.

I might be wrong, but I feel like the environment that Moot comes from doesn't produce the kind of guy he is and what 4chan was supposed to be on the surface.

I feel like it was all a psyop.
I feel like it's much like the Musk situation. You really think he's running 3 companies? No, he's the figurehead, the PR guy. He might have some minor input when pressed by outside forces (Moot during Gamergate admonishing the Mods) But largely he is there as the front man. You just don't run a random website at 15 that enters the top 50 websites on the internet and then head to Google, somethings behind that. Nothing is happenstance

I just want to log this because I don't recall seeing anything about it come up after the site went down.
In the last several months on 4chan, I experienced something a few times, which I had never experienced in many years of posting. I would be banned for certain posts, usually a violation of the Racism rule. But these posts would be made and tied to my IP when I was not at home, or was asleep. On 2 of the 3 noted occasions, they were posts I had made weeks prior, repeated word for word and then following with an issued ban. The odd 1 out, was a thread started on /tv/ just posting a black actress with an inflammatory remark.
I made none of these particular posts, and they were made on my IP which only I have access to. I also have experienced replies to various posts on 4chan in this timeframe, which I believe were made by unidentified moderators/janitors indicating they were watching me.
It all sounds very schizophrenic but I had never witnessed an "injected" post on my own IP that was also banworthy. It makes me uneasy because I suspect anything could be posted and tied to my IP if those posts were. Apologies for blogposting but knowing how much information the 4chan staff has access to with regards to the userbase just made me do a big thunk about it all.
Does your ISP use CG-NAT? that could be the reason

Moot literally ran it out of his house for a good amount of time. He's a pretty competent guy and was very hands on when he ran it. Musk is different because he plants the seeds and has the money to hire people to run it from there.

I'm not sure what that proves. He can run a datacenter out of his basement that can handle bandwidth of the top 50 websites? Whos financing that? There were no ads at that time, no 4chan pass, no donations. And thats barely anything anyway. Where's the money coming from?

Ads and donations started a couple of years in. That pic is well after that.

Like CEO of Autism said, based on your description it sounds probable that your ISP put you behind CGNAT (which they can do without forewarning, and doesn't require any input on your part).
With CGNAT you'd be sharing public address with other users, so a system that delivers penance based on IP addresses (e.g. 4chan) won't differentiate between you and whatever other user was the intended target.

If your router's WAN address doesn't match what's returned from IP lookup sites (e.g. ifconfig), then this is likely your issue.

You can contact your ISP and ask them to give you a public address -- but you might have to pay for it.

Moot once borrowed money from his mom and he had a donate or die campaign once. And I remember at 2012 there were a few ads. Very simple untargeted j-list ads, but it was something. I assume he had another job to go with it and funded part of 4chan out of pocket. He didn't seem too eager to beg for money.

I think ourchan has become my favorite imageboard. You can discuss sensitive topics without the mods seething and the based admin banned lolis and porn. These are the only rules:

According to RapeApe, the Dells came in a few weeks before the "I quit" AMA, which means the Macs got replaced in 2015 (but the hardware was likely 2010 era used stuff).
I'm not sure why people have such immense faith in corporations that they think a single smart dude with dedication and a pile of half-garbage computers couldn't do a better job than every corporation in America and run a site stuck together with bubble gum and baling twine that lasted a decade after he left only to be taken down by a soyteen because the retards (like RapeApe) he left it with were literally incapable of even running apt update or whatever.
