Even “le epic greentext may mays” have been dead in the mainstream consciousness for years now.

The internet is exhausting to use nowadays for many reasons, and 4chan embodies a lot of them. Every board is filled with pseudo intellectuals, overzealous jannies, porn, brain dead discussion of US politics, spammers, and coal. So much coal.

I quit around the same time, it just felt too exhausting, too formulaic, as if that place had become a parody of itself. Overnight I went from years of constant, compulsive browsing to zero. Makes me wonder what changed (if it changed much at all!), I keep scratching my head over it.
In the past, I'd have said that jannies got worse and more blatant in their favoritism but they've always been retards working with a broken report system. So I doubt it's that.

To anyone else who left-If you quit 4channel, what made you?

Bellwether culture threads and generals started dying left and right, anons who were informed and posting fresh content and good discussions became more scarce, the site became too fast and too slow at the same time. Nothing specific, but there was a slow decline after 2014 and it eventually infected the nerd culture boards and slower boards that used to filter retards with the content itself.

If I had to pick something, it was the crackdown on vaguely topical threads but not all the outright shitposting and off-topic trash. Or the turboautistic trolls that never got banned. Whatever it was, one day the fun stopped and there wasn't even any point in lurking.

Made a post a few pages back, literally because captcha doesn't work anymore on one of my older browsers. That's it, I can't be arsed to post on a newer browser without my 4ChanX settings, even tho it would probably only take a few minutes. That's how irrelevant the site is now, I only posted on it due to convenience and the moment that's gone, so am I.

I got banned for a couple days for screenshotting an article about a steam anti-trust lawsuit "I was participating in a flame war" but what gets me is the double standard when obviously fake photoshopped articles are allowed to be on there for hours but jannies will strike you down if you actually screencap a real article boggles the mind.

It's still as repetitious as ever, but at a semi-slower rate since sitewide traffic's slowed down sicnificantly when they tranny jannies extending the post timer to 15 minutes, but some things have ramped up due to several factors, on /v/ at least.

Viral marketing have gotten more obvious with someone either always damaging controlling every thread before release when shilling's called out or if there's any form of criticism. Culture wars/virtue signalling grifts are more intense with a lot of flops from woke garbage and lot of heel-turns from supposed "based" games/devs, causing constant raids from tourist trannies and the like to "dab on the heckin' chudcels", falseflags, well poisoning - it's just a fucking headache on that front. Doesn't help when glowniggers and bots are still pulling their same demorilzation and scare tactics shtick when they show up.

There's also a lot of pro/anti-CCP simping too, ironic or otherwise, since Chinese devs have hit it big recently with some vidya that isn't gacha. I forget who it was on here that said it, but they put it best when saying 4chan's nothing but a ghetto stomping ground. It all comes off so automatied whether, it's bots or autists making the threads. There's just really nothing worth discussing or even reading on there anymore. It's all tabloid-tier faggotry.

this is a major issue, especially with /v/ even if the thread is on-topic threads, it just get insta-nuked and the OP gets a 3-day or worst, Mods there curate the worst threads possible while purging interesting and unique discussion,id say its very likely Hiro or whoever is running the site now in his stead is hiring mods who are confirmed trannies
