Only insofar as many sharty users also have Kiwifarms accounts. Trying to do the "It was you all along!" Pointing when these things happen is utterly pointless in the social media age. The hacker(s) also almost certainly had Twitter accounts. Does that mean Twitter really did it?!
Also why it's a bit of a mistake to say "The Sharty" did the hack. The Sharty was where the hack was revealed and was the flag the attack was flown under, but as a collective group I doubt everyone on the Sharty was involved. I would be shocked if even 5 of them were involved.
This sort of "forum community" attribution to things like hacks, school shootings, swattings, etc is a part of human social psychology. When events happen we never think in terms of what individual did the thing. It's always the tribal group.
That said, I am noticing the Farms starting to catch strays on the social media, but that is more because people are compiling the information here and digging into it. The structure of this forum simply works better for that task. So naturally the assumption follows that the collective "kiwifarms" is involved. Even though the forums involvement is what the forum always does when something interesting happens.
