Nazis found this same shit out in Tibet and started summoning entities in Wewelsburg castle and similar places.
I'd tell you to go back to /x/ but I can't. But people like you were why /x/ was cool at one point. I mean it was always 90% schizophrenic gibberish but there was some good schizophrenic gibberish there too.

Well, yeah. The site had millions of users and people looked for something to kill time until it all blows over.
Doesn't really mean it was the spigot of internet culture anymore. Hell I'm sure twitter has a bigger impact these days with how 50% of daily threads on the high ppm boards was some retard making an asinine statement.

What was the last cultural zeitgeist 4chan pushed?

never said it was all i said was it's wrong to call 4chan dead

Twitter's userbase dwarfs 4chan's by millions, so its impact is naturally massive. Beyond sheer numbers, Twitter's dominance comes from 4chan being blacklisted by Google and other search engines, limiting its reach further. Meanwhile, social media's panopticon like algorithm effect amplifies it every literally who retard's tweet to a massive audience

that doesn't account for the level of spam on that site. Have you seen /pol/ lately? There are multiple datacenters working on that
they aren't just making nonsense posts, they're fomenting consensus and shit. This is extremely effective amongst modern internet users. It's especially effective on Reddit users
Reddit is a site that is designed to manufacture a consensus. The upvote/downvote system pushes anything that the hive mind on there disagrees with to the very bottom and promotes comments they do agree with. Anybody who goes against the grain is just downvoted and endlessly shit on because any comment that poses any dissident has 300 downvotes and 50 snarky replies within 5 seconds of it being posted.

Spam and slides have been on the site forever. The difference is that 4chan got filled with third-worlders and reddit refugees who are literally too stupid to not fall for it.

Go look at an internet penetration graph for any overpopulated third-world shithole and you'll notice a correlation with 4chan becoming unusable.

Wished they elaborated a little bit on that. I have no idea what to think of a "mistaken suid binary", nor how you can explore a remote system undetected for something like that without anyone eventually noticing.
There was a setuid binary called /usr/local/bin/suid_run_global which simply execves a perl script. Said perl script was writable by www so it could be hijacked to acquire a shell.

you think that's bad, you should look into what you can do to most of the automated home lawn sprinkler control systems
i like that guy Matt Brown on youtoob, does a bunch of "reverse engineer" videos involving consumer electronics. i always knew you could dump flash contents via uart bridge, but i guess i never knew the scale of it lol. damn near every piece of consumer grade internet-connected electronics can be broken into, because nobody ever bothers to change the console username/password.

I never saw that myself, but I did see fags embed CP in innocuous images on /vg/ before that shit got shut down.
I know that the /gw2g/ was completely shutdown for years because as soon as you made the general or put gw2 in the OP of a general, it would get bombed with non-sensical posts from some bot. I never found a reason, but it was a dedicated autist running it.

Most recently the one I remember was /tesg/ getting firebombed with CP/gore for a couple weeks straight.
Started with the guy making AI generated lolicon with thread regular’s avatars.

If someone wants to write a SUCCINCT, but complete summary that covers the main FAQ, go for it. I would feature it.
Also needs to deboonk/confirm commonly repeated but disputed memes, like was user info leaked, pass owners, .gov and .edu addresses of jannies, etc. Needs a serious just the FAQs approach.

Reddit is currently the biggest brainwashing machine on the planet. Echochambers so effective and hermetically sealed a 80's propagandist would never believe such a thing was possible.

Really makes you wonder why websites don't just range-ban the entirety of India, SEA, Pakistan and so on.

Nothing will match watching videos about creepy 4chan bullshit where they mention a thread in /x/ and remembering reading that exact thread as it played out. I never believed anything I read on /x/ as fact, but it was still one of my favorite boards to read.
“I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them.”

Couldn't care less if <random retarded poster> came from 4chan or reddit or <new image board of the month>.
Everyone is a retard until proven not; and in no time the nots will join us in laughing at the tards.
That being said, I can feel the collective IQ of the farms dropping below it's average of a nice and cool 78.
4chan users are far more cleverer than you think.
