Yeah and now that "once in awhile" is becoming drastically more consistent and common for some reason, and not even in regards to /pol/shit taking over a thread, even jokes and casual slurs are hit with it.

I'm not completely against splitting /v/ into sub-boards but separating them by genre is really retarded.
If you go to /v/ searching for something interesting and you see a tread on a game you like then you'll probably enter it and discuss it, you weren't searching for this specific thing, You found it by chance. The likeliness of you finding something interesting on a dedicated board is drastically decreased. You're not going to keep checking /vst/ just because you happen to like 1 game that could be considered strategy, and not many people would so the board is going to die despite there being fans of this particular content.
Another thing, splitting the board by genre is kinda dumb because some of them are less popular or have less shit to even be talking about.

Not really, it can operate as it does because it and the LLC are in the United States and have § 230 protection. Without that, it's gone.

I think it's a few tranny jannies and shitmods. The most common ban for this seems to be those 72 hours they hand out to keep the poster from appealing them, because these cunts know they're not enforcing actual 4chan policy, but their own personal preferences.

Something that's become increasingly apparent is that these days a lot of people come to 4chan just to use it as a toilet to flush their shitposts and get into slapfights before going back to acting normally on reddit, twitter, or discord because lol anonymous imageboard so no repercussions to face or reputation to maintain. It wouldn't bother me so much if so many people didn't seem to take pride in being a shitposter.

So, we didn't get a new board yesterday but instead had the cutoff date for /vr/ was moved up to 2007. Board has been overrun with gen 6 stuff now. I still think /v2k/ would've been a better idea since gen 6 feels like it has much more in common with newer gens than old ones and doesn't mesh too well with classically retro games.

Hilarious, i can only imagine the seething. Usually mentioning the ps2 should be retro was enough to enrage the autists there, even though it should have been included long time ago and the 1999 cutoff date was arbitrary as fuck, makes no sense having the dreamcast and not the ps2, a console that its 20 years old. When vr/ was created the SNES was less old than that.
