Interests 6/22 - Chris at Too Many Games convention - Day 2 - Chris has a meltdown, kicked out of con for boundary issues, kissing attendees

Who's to blame for Chris being kicked out?

  • Christine

  • The Convention itself

  • CJ

  • CLYDE CASH

  • The Captain for sending him there in the first place

Chris is a simpleton and doesn't understand social nuances such as when it's okay to be physical with other people. If one person fully consents to him planting a kiss on their cheek, he interprets that as something that is okay to do to other people. Does that give Chris a pass and free of consequence? Of course not, but he's not some malicious molester who sits around thinking about how he can get away with touching people.

The only issue now, considering this has happened, is if people are going to now try to ruin conventions for Chris when he does attend by claiming he touched them without consent even if he has been behaving himself.

Having the police showed was little overboard, unless chris was acting out of hand and refuse to leave after being told to there was no reason to call the police.

He was asked to leave then had his meltdown instead of leaving quietly, so police being called is legit. Especially with liability being what it is

I think Null is more of a big bro than a mother or father right now.

And that’s something Chris has always needed
Welcome to the family, Null Smithey.

Funny thing is I was actually there. That guy that said $100 was the guy I was talking to. I never thought I’d ever be in a Chris Chan video one way. Trust me, it was gross

Did they get Chris out of there? What did he say when it happened?

Phillip Cosentino I wasn’t there on what Chris did, but he was getting too touchy with some guests touching them and for one, kissing him without his permission so it was reported to the staff and they were gonna kick him out, so he did this in retaliation.

Shannonbarnesdr1 yeah it was weird. I was walking around enjoying the Con like a normal person, until I saw a group of people crowding someone. I walked up there to see what was the fuss, and when I saw that red and blue shirt, I immediately knew it was that fuckface. But I was wondering why the hell was he on he floor. I was thinking he had a mental breakdown or was crying or whatever stupid Chris Chan shit that he would do. I didn’t stand too close to him because I didn’t want to touch him because I could smell him from 5 feet away. I also wondered why he had a bat. I just knew whatever he was doing, it wasn’t good.

Basically he was doing stuff you don't do at conventions regardless. God it's hard to believe he's almost 40

Phillip Cosentino Yeah it was that in a nutshell. You see that guy with the beard and polo? I believe it was him that reported Chris to the staff.

It's not going well. I don't think Chris wants to hear it, which is unfortunate, because I'm not going to vouch for him to any convention managers unless I am relatively certain the message is clear. In my opinion, as of right now, him attending conventions is an extremely serious legal liability for someone who is quickly exhausting the sympathy of the courts.

We'll see if this point can be made more over time. I may ask other women he trusts to make the point as well.

I don't think Christine should be going to cons alone for now, and whoever goes with would have to be someone trustworthy and who would know what to look out for and how to calm her down. A carer or helper from an agency. They can't be a pushover.

Even if you explain 'don't do such and such', you can't guarantee that Christine won't just do it again and not be able to explain why. It can be impulsive and with many autistic people, they have to be reminded and social norms we always have in mind can be things that easily slip past or not occur to autistic people. Using 'social stories' might help give Christine an understanding of the situation and understand what is and isn't ok, and help emphasize how other people feel and the consequences, but there's always going to be an unpredictability in it. This and this is what I've found, though granted, it is for younger children, but it gives the gist of it and it's unfortunate that this wasn't tackled at a much younger age. You can pass this on to anyone you want to talk to Christine.

But anyway, Christine will most likely need someone to keep an eye on her. It's a lot but it's IMO necessary if you want Christine to fare well at cons and have sufficient support.

On a side: I understand Christine being asked to leave. She went too far, and when asked to go, I think she got overwhelmed and shut down. However, the staff sound like they were too non-confrontational. Not everyone checks their facebook during cons and you've got to be upfront with this stuff. Christine needs a good talk because she's just saying what she thinks people want to hear (like her "apology").

SO Chris only assumed the position when he was asked to leave? Did he think they would change their minds? Now whats going to happen with Brony Con? Twats will report his bullshit to the people running the con. I really want Chris to be allowed to go because he has to have a good time to make his falls really hurt.

Hey, @Null , I just wanna say that a lot of us appreciate all that you're doing for Chris, and you're going above and beyond what's expected of you, or of anyone for that matter.

However, I think maybe you should tone down going after Chris's perpetrators, in this case the "CJ" people. Aside from one fuckup from one of the people, they were almost entirely innocent in what transpired at TMG, yet you kept pushing to find an answer that wasn't there. Hell, towards the end there they showed true remorse of what they said about you, actually being scared for their identiy being revealed, and I'm not personally fond of the things you said in response. In some ways it felt like you were threatening these people.

I know this is Kiwifarms and all, and my word probably means jack shit to you, but I'd like to think we need to act a little less...Bloodthirsty if we're to call ourselves better than the trolls.

Love ya.
