Better version and closer angle of Chris speaking to Mike Pollack. Ffs Chris, can you be more of a cringe-tard? I love every second of this fail, you can just feel for everyone in the room.

and I found this...ahhh ha ha ha HALAL

That first video - was CWC actually thinking he was talking to Robotnik himself or was he fully aware he was talking to the voice actor?

Either way - that was cringy as fuck (even the crowd sounded unnerved by it). What was even the question, anyway?

CWC has proven himself to be so delusional, I’d go with 50/50 odds on that one.

Given how (in)famous Chris is within the Sonic fanbase, a much better question would be if the voice actor knew he was talking with the “Sonichu guy”...

What was even the question, anyway?
It was some nonsense about how “Eggman” pronounced backward sounds like “Nah, I’m gay”, while “Robotnik” pronounced backwards sounds like a much cooler “Kintobor”. You know, the kind of thing every 36-YO thinks about.

Props to the VA - he did a pretty good job of using a bit of humor to gently deflect the question.

How are they "tricking" him by saying hello and taking a photo together? What part of that invites a kiss after he's repeatedly been told that this sort of behavior isn't appropriate, even years before this convention? No, Chris is not a normal functioning adult, but he isn't a toddler who needs to be hugged and coddled every time he has a meltdown. Chris kissed them because he doesn't care about boundaries. He threw a fit because people rightfully called him out on it. He's an adult with autism, not a child with brain damage.
I wasn't being very clear: I don't think they're intentionally tricking Chris, I think people sometimes forget Chris is a real person and not a comedy persona of his or just someone there just to laugh at.

While Chris is responsible for his actions the person I think is most responsible is the person who offically invited Chris to the convention because they knew he notoriously has trouble understanding what's socially acceptable and they invited him anyway and now are suprised he acted in a socially unacceptable way.

I don't think Chris was intentionally being a creep though, he probally just thought that's how a pretty female celebrity should act towards fans.

.

Sorry to powerlevel but I met Mike at a comic convention and he definitely seems to know who OPL is, as confirmed by this tweet:

That same day I met some Sonic artists also there. Among them Dawn Best, who comments on her interacting with CWC in the same thread here:

Doesn't look like they're at all aware of what that moment in Christory meant to OPL, or us, though. Seems like being shown bizarre fanart from some eccentric is just business as usual at the Sonic factory.

If Chris keeps taking advantage of question and answer time to advertise himself and grandstand like that, they'll have another good reason to exclude him from cons.

Haven't been to many cons, have ya?

True, and Chris actually ended off with a nice response back. Too bad he didn't just un-ask the question in the first place and spare all of us the cringe. He felt no cringe himself, of course.

If it were a teenager making such an ass of themselves I'd be confident he'd within ten years not be able to remember saying that without blushing and cursing himself internally. But this is Chris. To him it's all good, no matter what it is.

:powerlevel: again...I can't speak for American cons, but British cons really don't like grandstanders, especially non-celebrity ones. People in the audience asking questions like Chris's would tend to be met with polite tolerance from those on stage, and outright irritation and/or boredom from those in the audience.

Either way, they'd likely end up as a Plague Job.
