Yeah, in gonna just go ahead and say that this was entirely Chris's fault.

Well, maybe not entirely, there may have been people bandwagon the #metoo Twitter, but Chris was definitely in the wrong for making inappropriate gestures and not realizing what he's doing is wrong.

I don't even understand why people are mad about them sending a message through Facebook! That's actually more warning than one would expect to give. Heck, maybe they sent it during evening/night hours, where it's pretty reasonable to assume people check their phones.

The Con rules were clear that any inappropriate gestures were not tolerated. I will agree that they didn't specify to what degree, but I don't think that really matters. They weren't obligated at all to talk to Chris, yet they did, whether it was in person or not. And I see no reason not to believe the staff when they said they has talked to him.

He even admitted it himself on Twitter that he was wrong. Through he did try and scapegoat a bit, it's still his fault for not seeing the warning.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice that people are defending him. It reassures me that, while people love to ridicule him, there are still people that appreciate him and sort of cares about him. But whether it's autismo or not, sexual advancements without consent is serious, and this is something Chris needs to figure out.

I wouldn't call it sexual advancement when it's just a kiss on the cheek. The only time I remember hearing about Chris making an unwanted sexual advance is when he tried to motorboat Catherine. Now I don't think that Chris getting too close to people and kissing people that don't want it is good, and I think he was rightfully kicked out if if he was doing it a lot, but let's not go the route people on Twitter are going and treating this like it's the same as groping or other explicitly sexual acts.

While I think that Chris is completely at fault here I find the #MeToo attitude the idiots on Twitter have to be annoying. An unwanted kiss on the cheek, while not appropriate, is very different from groping, sexual gestures, sexual remarks, or anything explicitly or even remotely sexual. I wouldn't be surprised of some of these rētards say that bumping into someone is harassment.

Also re: other opinions in this thread
I'm not going to hate you or think you're a bad person if you think it's totally justified, but what irritates me is that they invited Chris. They knew who he was and what to expect. If you're going to go out of your way to get Chris in like that, which is appreciated, I'd also reasonably expect you'd work with him a bit. I feel bad about not explicitly warning him not to kiss or hug anyone, because I did think about it.

Though I don't believe Jab. I think what he's saying is someone else told him that they did and I don't believe that person tbh.

I think if Chris was just gross and burped or said something stupid- they would have. But he was sexually harassing people and that's a zero tolerance issue. Chris threatened the con's bottom line.

Chris seems to think he's a dainty girl or a stereotypical flirt from some old movie he saw in TCM. He's not and needs to learn that.

God, can you people imagine what would happen if he tried this shit at Bronycon?
He did. He told people he was "horny" because he is a unicorn. They told him to stop because it violated their rules. The rest of the convention went on without incident.

Chris is dumb, lazy, entitled, and autistic, but he generally follows the rules at places he likes. Well, barring the occasional blowup.

Three?

If you're not exaggerating, that's a bit excessive, isn't it?
It's not really. Cops now tend to roll deep when confronting people, especially given how many of them get shot. Hell I got pulled over and had 3 cop cars on me just for a traffic stop. It's how they roll now. Given Chris' record and history with them, I'm not surprised they sent multiple units.

At cons where some people are overly cautious about catching con-crud and going so far as to avoid even shaking hands with people, yes, kissing on the cheek is crossing the line. Those that are saying a kiss on the cheek isn't a big deal and isn't really sexual harassment, think at it from their point of view. Either health concerns or just because some lumbering weird and creepy guy is trying to get some action, is alarming enough. And he was a repeat offender from everything we've gathered. I'm not surprised he was kicked out for inappropriate behavior.

I can't say anything really on the people being mentioned itt that helped bring Chris to the con, but they sound like shady people. Maybe one or two genuinely wanted him there but... :epik:

I...sort of agree with him. They all knew who Chris was. One of the dudes even acted all excited on twitter when he posted the picture, and now he’s tarding out that he felt offended. If you ask for a picture with a known weirdo, he’s probably gonna be weird.

Edit: yeah, okay. This was a dumb comment

Thanks, I didn't notice that.

To be fair, if someone shot me a line and told me I screwed up I would apologize. But if someone tagged me 10 times in an hour, whining about the same stupid thing (and Chris kissing a guy is pretty stupid), I'd tell them to f off.

This has been blow way out of proportion. Getting kissed by Chris or having him do something else weird is part of the live Chris experience.

As was said before, the "men" who complained to the staff should have just said something to Chris like, "wth are you doing? Stop it" or "cut the shit" instead of acting like little waifs. For men to repeatedly screech "you victimized me!" on the internet afterwards is just embarrassing.

tl;dr
>I'm gonna take a photo with this guy cause he's e-famous for being weird
>omg, he did something weird! :'(

Maybe they had done just that, though (verbally telling CWC to knock it off) - but, by the time they said anything, the damage was already done and telling CWC not to do that again wasn't going to stop him from doing the same to others (because, hey - just because these guys didn't like it doesn't mean others wouldn't).

At that point, someone could've gotten hold of the con security and informed them of what was going on - leading to the meltdown.

Complete speculation on my part, though.

Jab knew it was going to get weird. But he changed his stance on Chris after he heard some stuff from other attendees.

Lol con security isn't police. It's rent-a-cops too shitty to even get a gig being a badge checker at an office building.
