this is my first autumn in my flat! i’m excited for hot chocolates, snuggled up on the sofa under a blanket with my fairy lights twinkling for ~ambience. i’m looking forward to learning how to make so many soups/hearty foods, and when i visit my parents i’ll be able to visit my pet sheep who’ll be wonderfully fluffy as the weather gets cooler :)

@Assassin’s Sneed your sheep is beautiful. Lovely crimp! If I was a spinner I would totally buy some of his wool. Talk about cozy.
thank you, friend! he’s hebridean, and his coat is significantly finer than his mum’s (we have her, too!). I’d love to get into spinning, but I have hobbies coming out of my ears and I fear I’ll never get anything done if I pick up another.

He's just so pretty. I don't spend enough time on the hobbies I do have to justify picking up new ones like spinning. But it looks like fun!

Nothing beats a warm bath, comfy fleece pajamas, and curling up with a good movie/streamer and a mug of hot apple cider.

I know this may sound odd, but I also like the smell of burning leaves. Maybe it's because it makes me think of chilly nights around a fire with friends, sipping beer and just enjoying being around the people I love.

The day before yesterday was one of those nice autumn days when it's not cold yet and the sun is shining brightly and the fallen leaves rustle in the distance, driven by the wind. I decided to stop for a while, sit on a bench and enjoy it all, and then the sun, refracted by golden foliage, fell on my face with a pleasant warmth.

It was a good day.

I love wrapping myself in a blanket and playing my shitty little games with a cup of hot coffee a.nd music playing on my phone

It's wonderful,

I found a delicious recipe to use up the glut of zucchini I found myself with this year. It makes this dense, sweet, fluffy bread that tastes more like cake than bread. Whipping up some honey and butter and enjoying some in the chilled evenings has really been a cozy. Bonus points for not usually playing baker, so that has been fun.

I'm really glad to hear you fellow kiwis are having a cozy start to the season. It's a family recipe so if anyone feels like making some weird, sweet, fluffy zucchini bread with pineapple in it lmk and I can send it to you.

Autumn is absolutely my favorite part of the year so I'm pretty psyched. Spoiling myself and my pets a little by giving blankets and bedding an extra spin in the dryer at night, so it comes out super warm. The dog seems pretty into it so far! I've been itching to make a pumpkin pie too, but getting stuff for it has been a hassle. I saw a recipe for a savory one I was sort of curious about so maybe I'll just make both.

I grew up in New England and I loved getting into a cold bed with flannel sheets and a comfy duvet and warmening it all up when there was a cold, snowy storm outside. Ultimate comfy.
Being in the mid-South makes me appreciate Northern winters, or at least for the atmosphere of them. This past summer was hot as hell, which makes the chilliness of fall more welcoming than before.

The warm smell of freshly baked pumpkin pie will always bring out the best feelings of the autumn season for me. It's especially nice to make for family and friends who enjoy what I make during this time of year. I also enjoy cooking up a good roasted turkey crown for Thanksgiving, though one day I wish to roast an entire bird when I'm finally brave enough.
