Nobody 'won' GG. But Social Justice walked away as sore losers. To this day, anytime there's the slightest hint that their audience might not take them seriously, the usual clickbait journos will drag out GG as the day of infamy when the straight white murder brigade charged down the hill bearing a hashtag.

I think "Gamergate" is used instead of "audience", because much of what Gamergate was about (journalists are incompetent, overt political agendas are making pop culture entertainment worse) is pretty much common sense.
