A question for mcdonalds employees... How?

Mcdonald's and most food places have one of the least painful hiring processes that people who just want money can go through. No drug test generally
It's distressing how true this is, I used to work at a fast food place in the city, one day this big guy that they hired showed up, he looked like Burger Andy.

I couldn't tell because but he was apparently high as fuck, or something, something was up with him. I don't wanna say he was twitchy but he looked out of it and nervous and had to excuse himself several times if anything got overwhelming. And like he's not a 70 pound teenage girl, this guy had to be 6' 2". He looked like a lost kid at a circus.

They eventually sent him home and the main fat bitch (every restaurant has one) called the manager and just started grilling him about giving her two new employees who had no fucking clue what was going on to work the rush (I was only a month in to my time there), and she said it plain as day "HE WAS HIGH AS FUCK WHY'D YOU HIRE HIM". He never showed back up so I guess he asked for the job so he could get some quick cash, and then first day just immediately decided he couldn't handle it and took some painkillers or some shit.

It's probably been brought up in this thread already but another thing about fast food is that some races just don't get along. Especially if there's an age difference. The main bitch and her sister and even the manager would constantly bully this one black fella that worked with us, he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed and his pace was a little slow but they were just merciless towards him, at one point telling me not to work like him in front of his face. And he wasn't like some dumb drug dealer they pulled out of a sewer he was a regular mild mannered guy, he liked King of the Hill and was saving up to buy gold in case the economy went bad.
And I can tell you it probably bothered him because I was in a similar situation and it made me feel like shit. Later they hire this old black lady and her daughter, they were a handful but when them and the only other black employee were working together, and playing music that they liked (jazz) they were super efficient. Moral of the story is don't be an asshole to fast food workers, they get it enough from management and from each other.
That's not even mentioning the homeless.

Sometimes I feel like it would be fun to get a job at mcdonalds or amazon or some other commonly hated job, because I have a kind of dog brain slave mentality when it comes to work and I've spent years working extremely hard and becoming good at various things most people would have no motivation to be good at. I just tend to go hard at whatever dumb task is put in front of me.

Years ago I worked with a guy who said "I'm one of nature's shit-kickers. I wake up and look for shit to kick" and I really respected that attitude.

Have you ever worked as a janitor?

I chose to do so during college (free smoke breaks and being alone to think about curious things while hauling garbage).

You will deal with explosive diarrhea, vomit, and everything else a human being can produce, and more fundamentally clean it up. On the upside most commercial restrooms have a hose.
I mean yeah but that's not ALL the time. Cleaning up toilets is the nastiest part of the job on the nightly shift but once that's done it's just pushing an auto mopper and taking out trash. I'm not saying it ain't nasty work but me personally I'd still choose it over mcdonalds.

The depressing part is you can't find anyone under the age of 20 working in those types of places anymore. When I go in those places everyone seems to be in their mid 20's and older. Where do the teenagers and high school dropouts work? Boomers say those types of jobs used to be for them but I don't see it. It's not uncommon to see people that look like they are in their 30's and 40's in those places now. That goes for just about every low paying job in the service sector. Take a walk through Walmart or any of the last remaining brick and mortar stores and its people 25-50 years old working in there. Where are all the literal retards working at? Walmart used to be known for hiring the retards. I guess they are all home on disability bennies. They are kind of better off. I worked at Walmart when I was younger, and it was a shit experience back then I can't imagine it's any better.
Yeah I've noticed it too.It seems Checkers has a corporate requirement to staff their restaurants with the fattest and angriest 40 y/o black women they can possibly find. I asked one of my younger friends what their friends started doing fresh out of highschool and she said none of them are working fast food that she knows of. One went to be a sign spinner, one went to an Amazon warehouse, and the other one went to be a painters apprentice. The way she talked to me about it was like the younger generations don't even consider working at mcdonalds. Which.... good....

in canada, its mostly staffed by jeets who will be deported if they quit and dont have another actual job

Same here in Bongland. Most McDonalds workers in my country are some variety of brownoid. The same is true for most of the big American fast food chains, to be honest. It can be quite off-putting to see all these dysgenic third world faces peering out at you, lit from the harsh glow of the strip lighting behind the counter.

I had an experience in a Burger King once where I genuinely had to just walk away hungry, because the hijabi Pajeeta working the counter literally didn't speak English and didn't understand what the fuck I was saying when I tried to order.

Most of the Zoomers I know are unemployed. People in their late teens and early 20's. If they have a job they don't stick around. Most of them if they do anything it's like odd job shit. Like mowing lawns and cleaning trash and junk out of peoples sheds and garages for a few bucks. Back in the Boomer days people were in serious jobs in their early 20's if not straight up careers.

I walk through grocery stores and see people in their 30's 40's and 50's running the deli counter or stocking shelves. When I was younger it seemed like they were aiming those jobs at retards. The mentally challenged must all be unemployed on bennies.

I believe it's happening because that's just how shit the US job market is. There are no decent jobs out there so people are still stuck in these low paying service jobs Boomers say are after school jobs for kids. But when have Boomers ever had a grasp of reality?

When I worked in bars I used to love dealing with bathroom surprises. Shit on a mirror. Shit on the ceiling. Words written in shit. Puke projected /up/ a wall. Great stuff. Tickling the s-bend with a garbage bag over my arm. I could tell when someone had eaten McDonald's, or the pizza from the kebab shop. Or when the only thing in their stomach was cosmopolitans. One place I worked, I used to race my friend to check out the scene of the crime.

As a non-American I would like to have a genuine McBurger experience, here it's all families with children going for the Happy Meal or teenagers who saw them in movies and on tiktok.
To see a sheboon freakout over having to wait 2-minutes, trannies in programmer socks, or a homeless man smearing their shit encrusted anus on the windows outside, what sights, what Weimarian wonders.
You still have to deal with this shit when you work a 6 figure job these days, except instead of the sheboons and furry tranny PUPMAP being customers you have to deal with for 5 minutes they're coworkers you have to put up with forever because of DEI and ESG

Had a peer friend who's a McDonalds employee, told me wild stories I can share if you want to, he'd probably want to share if he knew of this forum. It comes down to pragmatism. Life didn't give him much and he needed the money. Started working young and wanted to have money to not be a burden on the household and give something to his sister too. Hated every minute of it and the stereotype of a McDonalds employee but did it anyways. Woke up every day to work and complained off work, but money is money. At the very least it gave him some work experience in his resume to boost employment efforts in the future as a bartender or BBQ/cook prep work so he can continue.

He could afford some luxuries his parents never could afford, same for his sister. And gave him work ethics. The low standards for the hiring process is both a blessing and a curse considering some of his coworkers were hell, but he pulled trough. Dunno what he's doing today since I moved, but I imagine him in a nice restaurant or caffe as a bartender.

One day the effects all of our interactions with service workers being unpleasant due to language barriers will have on the overall mental health of society will be documented.
The few times I’ve had old white ladies Service me I can feel the chemistry of my brain changing in real time

I don't work for any fast food chain and thank god I don't, but it's simply for shitty migrants who hop borders and lie on their documents to get jobs and for people who do not think for themselves in life to work there.

I work for Wal-Mart and yeah while the experiences there are worse, at least Wal-Mart gives you tools and resources that help your education and help you build yourself out of working there if you desire to. Unlike McDonalds, who has an education program, but it is only within the organization and the options are limited. You really can't say that there is 'no way' out of these kinds of jobs when there are opportunities, so if you want out of your shit job, extend your education.

I worked a McJob when you wore paper hats. Everything was standardised & minimalist. Few burgers, shakes, fries & that's it. No salad fuckery or mcfluffy gayness. Just grease & beef.
As soon as I had enough $$ to pay off my car I was gone.
It can be a great way to work with barely legal teenage girls who don't realize how much of a loser you are, or are at least willing to pretend not to realize because they want you to buy them alcohol or sell them weed. And then usually it's a whole different set of barely legal teenage girls every summer.
and while you get older they always stay the same age

For the curious (in the US anyway).

I always thought that McDonald's was also good for those with less-than-ideal starts to life or someone looking to build a career in food service. Once you hit assistant manager or manager of a location, more doors would open up.

And, hell, who are we to judge someone who is at least working and shows a modicum of personal responsibility vs some crack addict shaking you down for loose change at a gas station?

Its fucking crazy how little they pay despite the unwillingness of most people to work the job. I really want to know why people tolerate it for like $10p/h. Unless you work somewhere that requires a secret or higher clearance, the pay is insultingly low for the actual labor.

It's distressing how true this is,
I've managed a couple of fast food places as a young adult and I was the guy that made you want to be at work because I was just cordial with everyone and treated everyone with respect.

I am not every fast food manager. The manager I replaced got hired from McDonald's to work at like fucking Wendy's (cobes hours) And they fired her from McDonald's for stealing from the till. She would power vape weed all day on her shift and finally got fired because something wasn't done in the store manager came outside and saw her vaping.

I had one cobes work for me guy that wore metal shirts everyday and never bathed properly always slightly smelled of cigarettes and booze. He worked though he never fucked around he did his job he eventually got a better job at a farm and fleet. But the guy that I'm responding to you about was similar to your situation with Burger Andy.

I come to work and my boss goes hey this guy's John you're going to train him and he's like Native American like full-on Native American. And I'm like cool I got some natives in my family so I'm like that's cool I'll figure out some stuff about what tribe he's from and yada yada.

This kid was high as balls like his eyes were fucking saucers + he was constantly shuffling his feet I realized after talking to him for a couple of minutes he wasn't retaining anything I was saying so I'm like all right let's just have you wash some dishes so you don't get shit canned on your first night.

So I take him back to the Wendy's dish station which is a multi-purpose multi-section bathtub type thing where you just dump the dishes on one side and then you rinse them and put them in sanitizer on the other side.

This position in Wendy's in particular is where people get put when they get in trouble or if there's just nothing for them to do because there's always dishes to wash due to the fact that Wendy's makes fresh bacon like everyday.

The dishes he had to wash were some bacon pans that you do have to scrub a little bit and then like maybe a dozen cambros and one of the chili pots. After about an hour hear some banging around back there that's rhythmics I'm like oh he's playing drums on the pans I don't care as long as he's washing the rest of them.

Then abruptly the drumming stops. This guy comes wandering from the back out to the line and starts making himself a BLT which is fine side product it's not really counted. So like at a Wendy's you can have a BLT anytime you want if the manager is not a scumbag. So I'm like totally okay with it I'm like okay he's getting comfortable he then walks with his BLT straight out into the lobby and out the front door.

So sure I start laughing with the other employees and going wow that was a boss move I guess he just told me to go fuck myself lol. So I do the self-termination paperwork and write them off the books and send off his paycheck so he gets it within a week etc.

I didn't even dock him for his t-shirt because it was one of the ones we had laying around so I was like he can fucking keep it whatever. He comes back with his mom like 3 weeks later like so much time has passed that I don't even recognize this guy and she's like why did you fire my son. Explain the whole night and how I basically had zero interaction with him and I was hoping he was okay cuz you looked out of sorts I didn't even say on drugs and she goes: HE GOT SOBER 3 YEARS AGO

And he's like obviously uncomfortable, sober, and not happy that his mom's yelling at me about how he came to work high as shit and then just left with a BLT he made. I offered them both a free meal to calm them down and explained again that no one ever fired him he apparently and I said apparently with emphasis decided to self-terminate because he didn't want to be here or he didn't like the job.

About a year later I was talking to a friend that knew him and she told me that basically he did this with every job he worked at and it was drugs but it wasn't the kind of drugs you think.

He would apparently boil peyote buttons in water and make tea out of peyote buttons and then he would drink that smoke a bunch of weed and come to work. He would just be high as shit tripping out and he would get sent home every time. Apparently I was the only person that didn't send him home so he decided to just go home himself.

Not worth it for barely legal pussy. You can put on a studio and shoot porn nowadays and you'll have all the pussy you want.
