PC gamer review had their test rig playing 1440p on a 6600 (roughly a 2060 Super) and a 7700x and that aside from the occasional slight dip below 60 fps during big explosions and cutscene performance oddities it ran smooth.

Sounds like if you have even vaguely recent hardware you'll be fine.
DLSS/FSR =/= native 1440p. Even the recommended minimum specs at 1080p30fps low are with upscaling, and I would imagine said upscaling level would be on performance preset. It will be best to wait for genuine benchmarking channels to review the performance after release.

Virtually all pre-release reviews will be positive as otherwise the game developer will simply cease to send review copies to journalists. Pre-release reviews are not so much reviews but are instead a form of advertisement.

tl;dr always doom, doomgods stay winning

Dusted off 7 today to get warmed up for next week. Decided to fully commit to the HOTAS since I hadn't played the game in years, hoping that the lack of muscle memory would make it stick better. It actually did, and after a couple hours it started to feel natural. Through mission 12 with it and liking this playthrough more than any of my previous ones. Really wishing VR2 worked with it though.

Episode 3 is out, so my running theory is (((Belkans))) have once again infiltrated a government. They’re being belkans again and trying to fuck over another country by having sotoa invade. It will be revealed that they’re behind both the FCU and the warmongers of Sotoa.
I can't claim to be any sort of big fan or enthusiast since the only games I played were 7 and Assault Horizon, but is it ever not the Belkans?

The pilot is Camille "Selene/Shadow 11" Tewy (Lady in wheelchair) She is controling it via her mind akin to the X-49 Night Raven

Nah assault horizon was total shit. If you play through the games I'd say skip that one and my maybe the first one.
Oh yeah I was using it as an example that even our worst game still has die hard fans. I never bothered with it because making an ace combat outside of Strangereal is retarded.

controling

In 2040, a popular theory among military figures proposed the remote control of vehicles by a pilot through ENSI from any place in the planet, using the "Tele-Existence" communications system based on the Inter-Satellite-Network. However, while it would reduce the physical wear of a pilot, it carries the risk of potential nerve damage through feedback, along with a noticeable delay between inputs and responses and a vulnerability to hacking. As such, Tele-Existence remained an unfeasible control system.[1]

Do be warned that /aceg/ is infested with spoilers for AC8
Not gonna post main game spoilers that I saw from there, but I did get the whole plot ruined going there.
I will say something tho:
It's nice to see that General Resource is linked to the main bad guy corporation in AC8, it sorta ties up and can explain what Electrosphere's story is and how it lines up with the rest of the series. While Electrosphere is probably not entirely cannon, with the modern rise of AI and the cloud, it's definitely got more of a reason as to why it should be canon now vs even say 10 years ago. I also wonder if the ending of AC8 and the seemingly simulated world some of the pilots are living in, almost a digital afterlife or something that seems on par for Electrosphere, and possibly setting up what AC9 will be about. Personally I want the next AC game to be about the Strangereal universe version of The Cold War, or The Ulysses Disaster.

This game alone is the reason why I'm upgrading my PC. Whilst I am a newbie when it comes to Ace Combat series, the fact that played 4 to 7 (Besides AH) shown me one thing; that AC has soul. The music, story, and gameplay improving in each game regardless of mechanics (fuck unsung war with its no return line) shows me that Project Aces cares.

I remember seeing AC5 at my local rental store; thinking "I can't kill a nigga in dis here jet? shieeeeet". but as I've grown and explored different genes. Ace Combat has been both the most unique and fun series I've ever played.

I hope you and everyone else enjoys this upcoming game, I fucking love Ace Combat. I love the corniness, I love the gameplay, I love the nonsense story, but most importantly; I love the fun. I can't even enjoy WT unless I'm playing AC ost. Why? because AC has SOVL. I really hope AC8 Is great, and I hope it has as many Sky kids in the sky as Pixies.

Oh no, I saw Oboeshoesgames say in his AC8 Review that in order to get fucking old Ace skins for SP ( ex: Cipher, Talisman, Shamrock, Gault) you have to play MP and roll the lootbox gacha. Also, due to the Plane Licensing bullshit you need to have AC8 installed on Steam to play Zero because it's counted as a """dlc."""

Either way I should just buy a Virpil HOTAS set and call it a day.

Gotta wait until the piracy wizards somehow find a way to have a separate AC0 launcher
