Actions movies that actually have a good plot/cast/plausible story.

The point I'm trying to make are the characters in films like "Heat" are relatively realistic, Al Pachino is bit over the top, someone mentioned his characters backstory originally him having a cocaine habit which would make more sense. The biggest issue I take with Heat is the 3 men walking into a bank with fully automatic carbines and 4 extra mags. On the other hand would it be a great action film without the all the gun porn? You see the dilemma here.

Surprised nobody mentioned the Man from Nowhere, which is unanimously considered as the best Korean action movie.

The film feels like an absolute fever dream from start to finish in terms of violence like goddamn.
 
Ronin (1998 ). Two great car chases and a number of gunfights PLUS Natascha McElhone with an Irish accent. If the lead was anyone but super-Gary-Stu DeNiro, I'd say it's the best movie ever made.
