How many editors is he employing at this point? The more he hires the less frequently he seems to release content. I'm not even sure what he's spending most of his time doing now, his content seems to have slowed to a snails pace across the board.

The fate of every eceleb who starts streaming regularly. You get tons of free money for sitting on your ass doing what is essentially nothing, then suddenly those videos you have to make feel a lot more like work, especially if you sit down and actually try to edit them alone, without donos popping up or stopping every five minutes to chat and eat with your parasocials.

Watching an "editing" stream with Adumb and you realize how little work he actually does during them. It's endless stop-starting so he can talk to his audience, then snacking, then watching something they want him to watch. There's practically zero work getting done.

Hiring people to edit for him is like trying to slap a bandaid on a wound with gangrene. You aren't going to fix it when the core problem is something else entirely, I.E., too lazy to work.

But i don't think it's popular enough for him to completely abandon his YT career over it, specially with him taking 12 YEARS TO MAKE 10 years to release a single studio album. By the way, what's the consensus around here on his music? I tried listening to his album years ago when it came out but i thought it was really bland and i didn't really connect with it. The only interesting thing i know from it is that fucking Blondie of all people covered one of his songs.

Honestly I completely understand this. Making videos is scary - you work on this thing for 10,20,100 hours, however many it takes and you only have an idea of how well it might go based on the reception of previous work. "What if I release it and it bombs?" - a thought unevitably creeps. All that time is gone to waste. So it seems almost a no-brainer to stream yourself making the video: you get real-time feedback, you get to make "content", you get money, most important of all. If you were a "content creator", why the hell WOULDN'T you do it?

Which is a double-edged sword. While you might be making your fans happy, the reason they became fans in the first place is because of the original content you made yourself. While YouTube comments are notoriously shit, the few constructive criticisms at least can be taken for the next video but at least you're doing it in your own style. Having a bajillion people dictate what you should and shouldn't do in real time all of a sudden becomes "too many cooks in the kitchen" times a billion, and it's no longer your work but rather a glorified fan project that just so happens to get approval from the original guy.

Add the fact that Adam is EXTREMELY sensitive to criticism, and it's no wonder why nothing gets done on time. He cares way too fucking much what reddit/twitter/twitch thinks and would rather just have a bitch-fest regarding them instead of doing something constructive.

It used to be only at the Patreon credits and for the first video, attempted to be uh..."sexy"?



But afterwards it's more family friendly.



He's trying to also shove his own commentary after the Patreon credits, but thank god the people who add the skip the clickbait/promotion/reminder/etc. stuff on the SponsorBlock extension are based and also include that so the video just ends after the original clip is done. (Like it's supposed to.)

From what I understand he's very micromanagerial when it comes to editing. Like, he'd rather just edit himself because he's very particular, and I don't understand why. His edits are nothing to write home about. I don't even watch his videos so much as listen to them because his editing rarely adds anything extra. If you're going to hire editors, let them edit. Don't hire them and hover over their every decision.

That is assuming, however, that he isn't just using the age-old, "I'm just a perfectionist" excuse for never getting anything done. His rationalization hamster has some impressive calves and it's very rare that he'll admit to a straight personality fault, especially one like laziness. He'd rather convince his audience he tore his rotator cuff editing videos than just admit he has issues staying on task.
