Until I found KF and had my tear ducts removed and learned how much a hack Sandler was, Click was always my go to cry movie. If I was super stressed and needed a good cry I'd just watch the end and let it all out worked great but now I can do that by watching animal rescue videos and that works better.

He hasn't had a major release in almost five years. Ridiculous Six was one of Netflix's most watched releases and Pixels was in second place to Ant Man when it came out. His last blatant vacation movie in 2014 had a poor opening but still ended up grossing over $100 million.

Netflix is straight2dvd of this generation. It's made for Sandler, and every movie turns a profit. Considering how much of a cow most celebrities are, at least he's milking it for what its worth.

and his next movie is only just barely getting a release
Going to theaters thanks to a24, Netflix everywhere outside America.

Luckily it's a Crime Thriller and it's done by the guys who made Good Time with Robert Pattinson, which was a fantastic movie.

Click was actually half-decent by Adam Sandler standards, but I think that was mostly thanks to the strength of the premise (i.e: the idea of a universal remote control capable of controlling reality was somewhat cool). The rest of the movie however, wasn't great. The writing, acting, and humor was still very much sub-par.

I'm not well versed on Sandler's oeuvre because I was too young to appreciate the sophisticated adult humor in his films and too old to enjoy the broad slapstick and gallows humor. I do, however, appreciate Sandler's place in the history of jewish humor, and recognize the lineage of jewish films tracing from the catskills to Mel Brooks to Harold Ramis and, finally, to Adam Sandler. Will Adam Sandler's films be remembered as fondly as Ramis's and Brooks's? Only time will tell, but I have a feeling that yes, yes they will.

What? That movie sounds awesome. Punch Drunk Love is kino and Sandler is great when he wants to be. I loved his performance in “Funny People” even if the movie is kind of a mess it’s nice to see a big Hollywood comedy with a character who gets cancer and doesn’t become some saintlike martyr, in fact he becomes more of a selfish dick.
