Tech-TV was so much fun and G4 wasn't bad for the first few years after the merger.

He did it to himself. Like a lot of lowcows he thinks he's owed something for being special and that no one is as good as he is. Lack of self awareness, narcissism, and decency is such a common trend with these creeps.

CalebCity is a talented skit maker, but this is just his Smash Tier skit done over again, just with the addition of a fried-brain boomer who never seems to realize what the joke is, and stretched to 14 minutes from the original 2 1/2 minute skit.
Despite his experience with videogames, Sessler adds nothing to the discussion, you could replace him with some random non-gamer and the commentary would be identical.
He should be embarrassed, instead he just plays up the boomerisms, "Oh ho ho those kids and their Fire Emblems and Xenosagas, I'm just old school!" but then he fucks that up too by not knowing who King Dedede is, a Kirby character from 1992.

I saw this pop up on my feed and couldn't even finish it for the reasons you listed. The bit doesn't really work when you drag it out that long especially when Sessler is giving Caleb absolutely nothing to bounce off of for the jokes. Complete waste of a video. If you're gonna make "out of touch boomer" your gimmick, at least be funny about it.

To be more exact:

1. He's a failed stand-up comic who's gimmick is basically making fun of himself which can only get you so far
2. Sessler was considered handsome enough by casting folks to get hired as a TV presentation host for a video game show where he played the token nerd (Extended Play). Which became X-Play....
3. With X-Play he was paired with Morgan Webb; Webb was the brains and Sessler was the comic relief who managed to fake a persona that allowed people to think he was a legit nerd and Morgan the hired eye candy and not vice versa. Supposedly Morgan and Sessler are still friends, though mostly through Adam's wife and her being horrified at Adam's drug abuse as far as "I'm not going to let you die and leave your family to the wolves" sort of momma bear instinct
4. Adam's a druggie used X-Play as his go-to sketch comedy show which got it big ratings, except G4 wanted Attack of the Show to be their flagship show and eventually gave the edict that only AOTS can do sketch comedy and X-Play has to do hard reviews and interviews.
5. Suddenly thrusted into a position to cover hard news, Adam becomes a huge dick with his new "responsibility" to do hard journalism. Becomes such a dick that when contract negotiations fall apart, G4 basically tells Adam they won't bring him back or allow X-Play announce his departure until his very final episode is filmed, then escort him via security off the studio property.
6. Attempts to set up a new video game news outlet and it fails MISERABLY and starts doing even more drugs than he used to
7. Starts hanging out with Zoe Quinn, because they (allegedly) share the same dealer and becomes one of Zoe's henchmen to stay in the "cool kids club" and get work.
8. Kills his credibility with Gamergate and TDS, as the mask has fallen off of him and you have people who idolized Adam realize he's just a fraud and a phony and is part of the cancer killing videya.

I'm genuinely surprised Leo Laporte doesn't have a lolcow thread, or at least one I'm aware of. He's so hated someone created a website all about how poorly he runs things. Off the top of my head, he has exposed nude images of himself and his latest wife multiple times while on the air, years ago he sperged out and banned John Dvorak from TWiT because he wasn't being uncritically woke enough on the (if I recall correctly) Covington kids issue, and he hired and then lost a ton of people from TechTV because, allegedly, they couldn't deal with him anymore.

I dropped TWiT years ago when all the good co-hosts were either fired, quit, or died. I love Steve Gibson, but I don't end know what the "network" has at this point aside from Security Now. I can't imagine actually listening to Leo tard out over current year politics.

Holy fuck he looks like somebody dropped a dose of reality on him and it changed his looks forever but not his personality.

I used to watch X-Play and I thought that shit was funny. If there's one thing Adam Sessler was really good at, it was the skits which were the most memorable thing about that show, that and some of the 1 out of 5 reviews were funny.

After he became a terrible person/pretentious douche, I just stopped watching. There's only so much you can do when a funny person starts thinking he's bigger than God.
