You've got to understand, at one point in time it's possible I was this dude's biggest fan, you have no idea how big a fan I was of X-Play at one time.
But even I have to admit Sessler is a douchebag and when someone that could once possibly be described as your biggest fan says that, you know you've done fucked up.
Still have a lot of happy memories of X-Play, watching clips of it on YouTube is close to peak nostalgic media for me, I'm sad it turned out to be this way, but I'm not going to not call a spade a spade.
If you remember the short lived web series Broken Pixels where he and a few other EGM editors like Crispin Boyer and one other guy would play games back in 2006 they would casually throw around the word fag and make gay jokes, ah 2006, how I miss thee.
I wouldn't expect Seanbaby to go full Fourth Reich or anything but if I expected anyone to be able to see Woke for the bullshit that it is and make fun of it, it'd have been him.

It really isn't too surprising looking back on some memories of X-Play.I can't really say that I'm surprised to see that Sessler is a total degen.
I always thought he was cringy while Morgan was the knowledgeable one.

From what I understand he did in fact want to be an actor/comedian, something like that, was never a big time gamer and hosting a video game show is just what he so happened to fall into, correct?

So is that what went wrong? I checked out in late 2006 after the third set change, it seemed like the whole tone of the show changed to me and I didn't realize why it had happened.

The main thing I'm hoping for is an archive of old G4 content, being able to watch every old episode of X-Play would be a literal dream come true for me, as there seems to be only a small fraction that was preserved by fans, I can't even find the pilot episode.

Judgement Day was better than Xplay btw. You know, the show that existed before the G4/TechTV merger hosted by Victor Lucas and Tommy Tallarico. I met Tommy at a gaming convention in 2005, good guy, bought myself and multiple other folks burritos.

They still do the occasional review together and are genuine friends. Even if Tommy was a huge asshole like Adam, he's far more involved in the industry than Sessler ever was or will be.

Probably cause Lucas and and Tommy got to do more then just Judgement Day, they did Electric Playground (or EP Daily as it's called in some places) and got to check out the convention circuit. Meanwhile, the most Sessler could ever amount to on television was him and Morgan sperging out on skits and talking about video games while occasionally getting lucky enough to check out E3.

I didn't watch Judgement Day much but I did Electric Playground and it was really cool.
The thing is Tommy Tallarico could sometimes have completely retarded opinions, still a likable guy though.
Did you ever see that video OPM did on their demo disc where they toured his house back in 2002?
It really does come down to California, there was this one comedy website I followed for years, even got to meet some of the guys behind it because they did national tours, I fell off of keeping up with for a few years, check back and it's now Woke, because it's based out of LA you see.
It really like there's something in the water or some fucking Invasion of The Body Snatchers shit.
The irony is Seanbaby never engaged in any humor that not literally everyone else was also doing back then, he just maybe did it the best.
