Phil won't call, he made himself think he was a woman, then a Latina, now he probably thinks he's illegal and oppressed.
Phil doesn't really think he's a woman or Latina or anything like that. Deep down he knows he's just another heterosexual white male from the suburbs, and in fact he's extremely self-conscious about it, almost to the point of paranoia.
Like most things in Phil's life, it's essential just posturing, or at best a sort of role-playing, albeit one which he is taking to the extreme because he has no concept of boundaries (in every sense of the word). He's... really more like a teenager than an adult, or even an actual teenager at this point. He's little more than a walking parody.
The extreme ease at which he adopts and discards identities and fetishes should be a giveaway. He's gone from being "gay" to "intersexed" to "trans" to "asexual" without missing a beat. Whatever is currently hip and trendy, and unique, appeals to him. Ditto for ethnicities. He's kept up the whole 'translatinx' thing for a while, but look at how he's gone full circle on being "Jewish."
He writes them down but they are really far fetched, he's got no concept of run before you can walk a good example would be learning to play a guitar, Say Phil wanted to play he wouldn't get a starter guitar and lesson book, he'll go out splash the cash on the most expensive guitar he can find and instantly expect to sound like he belongs in the Rock an Roll hall of fame because he watched a youtube interview with James Hetfield once 6 months ago.
I doubt Phil would know who James Hatfield is... but yeah pretty much. As I said before, it's all a bit of role-playing that he's taken way too seriously. Except instead of being an orc or some shit, he's a mid-level bureaucrat in some shitty communist country. Talk about a waste of an imagination.
I suspect part of it is that Phil is a very concrete thinker, so he keeps his country grounded in what he thinks he knows (hence the resemblance to the Northeastern US, down to place names, despite ostensibly being a Spanish-speaking country with a presumably different history). However, I also think he gets a power trip off pretending to be a 'adult,' because he thinks this gives him knowledge of politics, geography, etc. Never mind that it's about as 'adult' as Star Trek, Marvel comics or D&D. Less so actually, because at least those would let him bond with other fans! Of course Phil wouldn't like that because he thinks he's smarter than everyone else in the room too.
So question: does his identification with australatina go to the point of a sexual fetish? I mean, he's already weird and fucked up as is, so how deep does that rabbit hole really go?
