Because it's always a great idea when someone who is constantly angry at the world, threatening suicide, and who can't even support themselves like a grown ass adult has access to deadly weapons. Yeah rachel does look like a cleaner. The type of cleaner who would scour every last chunk of meth clean from every spoon and needle in a five mile radius. I, for one, would love to see an armed and homeless recovering meth addict, especially when they begin experiencing relapse and withdrawal symptoms. Heartless? Maybe, but they live in Portland so nothing of value will be lost.

I agree with your read, I think also the limited social skills, and general un-attractiveness of his personality makes him an institutional-joiner. He gains social connections through the willingness of groups to put up with him for a limited time. Unlike, his interactions with individuals.

Tommy Tooter has at the least inherited money from a family that seemingly cares about him on some level. Phil has inherited nothing and even if his family had money to give him I doubt they would. DSP, Fuentes, and Ralph despite all being bad people have fans left and people regularly hang out with them. Nobody is a fan of ADF and nobody hangs out with him.

I think he just doesn’t fully comprehend how much his life sucks. He has a mental age of about 13 and a very slow thought process, so he probably can’t conceptualise that he’s wasted his youth and his life will never improve.

IIRC the only time Phil has ever made any actual overtures towards suicide it was by downing a handful of OTC pain relievers, like Advil or something. It made him sick and he got put on a 72hr psych hold, but that's the only time he's actually acted on his empty suicide threats.

Yeah. That was when he had gotten someone to feel sorry for him and offered him their couch to surf on. He then started acting like a total cunt, ate a bunch of their food, demanded money, then "slashed" his wrists with a plastic butter knife or something to get more sympathy and guilt them into caving to his demands. It instead pissed them off because they had been cutters in the past and they kicked his ass out. He got even more angry and started spreading lies about them to other troons.
