From what i can tell the reason Phil felt like he could get a place was that Torren was going to go half with him when he found out that casacadia wasnt going to help him any time soon Phil got the place at a slight $100 discount but thats it.

Torren moved in and hasnt paied a bean since he set up shop an evicted Phil from his own bedroom, but hes genuinely frighted of what torren wull do if he challenges him over it.

Its one of the reasons I'm saying what torrens doing to Phil is abuse.
