Yep. Phil buys things to use as props for his "identity". Trinkets, totems, and talismans that are tangible to help enable his power fantasies and make it easier for him to believe they're real. Every time he gets an Autistic fixation about something and declares that it's part of "who he is" he starts buying props, garb, and accessories to go along with his new bit of compensation for having no real identity or personality of his own. It's all so he can feel like his little retarded obsessions are actually "valid" parts of his identity. It's all just basically cosplay that Phil hopes will impress people into believing he's legit instead of a retarded loser wannabe. Phil is the EXACT kind of person they started making Ché and Antifa t-shirts for, despite adamant claims that they're Socialists/Communists/Marxists. Which is hilarious because he's just sabotaging himself by drastically narrowing down who can see it. White Liberal Guilt, Marxism, and Social Justice Politics are a helluva drug cocktail (on top of the actual drugs many of them are likely on).

This obsession with the term Chud made it so I had to go and double check because it's been a bit since I've watched them, but I'm pretty sure you can argue that the chuds won at the end. I am 100% convinced that in both cases, trooning out derives from feelings of masculine inadequacy. Greta has testosterone poisoning and can never be butch enough and Phil is just a failure at even existing. Kinda makes sense if you think about it, since a sizable number of AnTardfa are worthless, jobless druggie burnouts. Might as well name their movement after the things they actually care about (and one of the few buildings they would actively avoid torching).

And they can be used to easily identify Phil in the extremely unlikely chance that Phil decides to nut-up and go check out the riots in person. He'd easily get caught by the police, arrested, and then he'd sing like a songbird about who his "comrades" are, what crimes they've committed during the riots, and where the police can find them. All the police would need to do is tell Phil that they'll confiscate all his clothing that covers his face and torso so all his tattoos are visible, then toss him in a cell full of Latino criminals if he doesn't cooperate. He would turn snitch so fast that it'd risk throwing the planet off it's axis.
