I decided to comb through my screenshots and share some of the ridiculous, inappropriate, and ugly shit I get recommended in ads I see on social media, in mobile games and around the internet. I thought I'd post this here because a lot of the ads I get are fashion related and I think gals would appreciate them more.

Recently Instagram has decided that I'd be interested in some hideous designer items that look completely unwearable.

There were a few gems from Shein as well.

I actually like this one though.

I regularly get ads for things that make me go "what the fuck did I search or click on that made them think I'd be interested in this?" Facebook had a habit of giving me incredibly inappropriate ads (some with full-blown nudity, not shown here) back in the day.

"Vajtats".

I kept getting this ugly Corporate Memphis-esque genderblob for a while. I fucking hate it.

Some randoms from Instagram.

I'm assuming this is a dog toy of some kind? This is the last thing I would buy my dog to play with.

Chicken nugget, rock, poop, you decide I guess.

I don't know what this is.

I still don't understand what this illustration is supposed to convey.

I really, really dislike this.

Lastly, people who should not be advertising anything

Who told her this was a good look?

This woman gave me an actual jumpscare when she popped up underneath a video I was watching.

If you have any horrors from the world of advertising feel free to share!

I am fairly sure we already have a thread of bizarre products that ran to 10 pages or so, and I'll try to find it just in case a merge is warranted. But in the meantime this is an amazing post and I am losing my shit over those garbage bag shoes.

Not as ridiculous but I think this company wasn't even trying:

Edit: @Aunt Carol found it and I was actually remembering the Engrish ads thread! THIS THREAD LIIIVES!

I feel like I remember a thread like that too, but I didn't want to post only products themselves because sometimes the products aren't the crazy part.

I assume they were thinking "like 'je ne sais quois', but in English!" but they're really setting themselves up for a "Who's on first" situation there.

There's this thread, which is Engrish with a dusting of weird products the way @Carnavoyeur 's thread is shaping up to be weird products with a swirl of Engrish.

This is such a great idea for a thread. I see Temu ads a lot in Facebook, mostly because I click through to see just wtf?

I have a number of screenshots from the last year or two, but none of them are cropped. It’s past my bedtime so tomorrow I’ll have some insanity.

Ohhh yeah the Engrish thread, I bet that's what I was thinking of too. Surprisingly I don't come across much Engrish in ads or even when I'm shopping for something on Amazon, and when I do it's not funny, just basic grammatical errors. There were some in that thread that actually made me lol.

How they got this from my taste in shoes I'll never know.

I actually think this is rad. Facebook got one right.

Listen, I get it, I know about pelvic floor dysfunction, but did they have to word it like that?

This is just unpleasant.

I have not actually been wondering WTF are radishes, but I am now wondering two things: who the hell is wondering WTF a radish is, in the US at least (see: ananas and pineapple) ; and W[hy]TF they think radishes are ~so special~ to require that post, on what I assume is not a “vegetable of the day” account.

Hilarious.

Probably either an underwhelming seasonal menu, or they're selling radish powder the same way people started selling beet powder.

If it were about fun tricks with really sharp knives, they'd have phrased it as "wtf are those? radishes radishes radishes radishes."

I'm sure BP has already talked about the brand superfit hero but their legging product photos never cease to be hilarious

I have to remember to screenshot unfortunate-looking people more often because Instagram really likes to push "size inclusive" shit on me. I was looking for lingerie a while ago and my feed was all flabby hairy enbies for like 2 weeks.
Best I got is this. It looks like someone stuffed an old pillow into it. I think actually seeing it on an obese person would be more appealing to look at.

Aren't radishes eaten in like... most of the world? I looked at their page and they're a "healthy" cafe chain in Southern California seemingly geared towards millennial women. Radishes aren't a rarity here. Would their clientele really be sitting silently wondering what radishes are?

Ah! I have some images saved of these I was laughing over a while back.

Whyyyyyyyyy?

I would love to know if their sales improve or tank after this kind of model is introduced. Personally it puts me right off.

Temu insanity!

The way they display underwear always cracks me up. They are not-so-subtly calling Americans fatty fat fats look how much these stretch because you fat!

IMG_1285.jpeg
Ouch. But, I know they’re probably actually just printed paw prints, but ouch.

IMG_1286.jpeg
I like this for its color and design. I can’t think of anywhere it would be appropriate, and I know it doesn’t look nearly as nice in person.

This one is particularly horrifying knowing what the stereotype is for cats and China. I won’t buy any sort of leather products from Temu or AliExpress because I can’t trust it to be cow leather.

They often have really pretty dresses, like this one, but the quality is definitely hit and miss. I have several shirts from them and I like them, but they’re that not-cotton stretchy shit (modal maybe?) that fades in weird ways and pills super quickly and doesn’t last long at all. Walmart’s short nightgowns all use that fabric too and I hate it.
