I don't think most people would be "feigning outrage" over this. Either they just have the normal human reaction of seeing a groomer and being utterly disgusted but it's turned up a notch and they sperg out as much as they want without thinking because it's on the internet, or worse, they're reacting like that because you really don't wanna know the statistics on paedophilia and rape.

Slight PL: when I was a teen and Google Plus or whatever it was was still a thing there was some weirdo stalking me on YouTube of all places. I felt fear I didn't know how to describe before, and being a retarded teen I didn't know what the fuck I should even do. I had to ignore and lie low, like fucking prey. There's 20 year olds who look like 15 year olds and there's 15 year olds who look like like 20 - that's just the reality of it.

That's not the issue, though. There are kids with progeria who look 80. And if you raised someone as a feral child until they turned 30 it would be wrong for people to go up to them, and have sex with them. It's not what you look like, it's your ability to consent.

Focusing on what you look like empowers lunatics on the other side of the aisle, who have invented terms like "child coded" ie. they don't want ADULT WOMEN to date if they look too young, nevermind the fact that they might look that way until their 30s.

It's all about what you look like tho. The science on it is real and indisputable - you can SEE sexual maturity. Your pl story informs you views but you forget to account for other people than yourself. I incel'd myself over all this screetching in my teens and tweens because this very social over-reaction happening itt made me feel that angst you described - it goes both ways - abusive sex is abusive sex no matter if both are 30 or one is 17 and the other is 23. It's good that there's a cut off on the ability to consent to protect people who can't biologically know what they are in for but that cut off should be based on the actual science. Another fallacy you commit is the idea that somebody who's mentally unprepared, regardless of his maturity shouldn't be sexed at all. If so, when and how exactly should the feral man child or the 17 year old only interested in partners older than him/herself have the 'first' sexual experience? strictly autistically speaking, those are now trapped in an inescapable situation. If people get purposefully abused because they are inexperienced and hence are impaired relative to the other party, that abuse on it's own merit needs to be judged and punished. And power imbalances are already accounted for in court. A simple example would be the fact that most women are weaker than most men and can be easily subdued by the latter - that has nothing to with age.
