I like Corridor Crew, but this 'we've democratized animation, and made it available for everyone' is bullshit. Nigga, animation is already democratized, all you need is a pencil/pen and paper. Don Hertzfeldt made his career on
animating just using pen on paper, and Japan still animates on it (paint and ink are done digitally). Niko talks about animators like they are some secret elite society keeping these skills away from the common man. Which doesn't make sense since they have animators on their channel all the time, they even had fucking Tom Bancroft on. And to top it all off, Niko says you too can make your own 'anime' using Corridor Digitals process, but only if you buy a subscription! (so much for democratizing animation).
As I've said before in this thread, people that talk about 'democratized art' just want something without putting the work in, which is ok, fine. But it's weird coming Corridor Crew, as they go out of their way to show how much work and skill goes into VFX.
The actual process and end result looks interesting, and using 3D renders and applying a style filter in stable diffusion seems like a great time saver for animation backgrounds.
Though I wonder if EB Synth would've gotten better results for the actual 'animation'.
To all the artists and animators on Twatter that are overreacting to this video, if you're threatened by THIS:

Then maybe you should put down the pencil/stylus.
AI can be a great tool for artists, I can't wait for a tool that will auto colour all the frames in my timeline based off a finished frame.
