Record labels have won over the issue of samples though, although courts have issued different rulings which make the law vague. That's why the samples are usually paid for except for times the label can prove the bit being sampled is either in public domain or the copyright can't be enforced.Twitter ””””Artists”””” trying any legal action against AI wont ever lead to anything. What ’income‘ is threatened? The one they won’t even tax?
The music industry has been sampling songs(no less than AI ‘samples‘ images) for decades and no producer is retarded enough to try make a case on it. Because it’s real tough to make an argument on something being ‘stolen’ on the grounds that it’s ‘similiar’. The industry is so oversaturated that millions can have the same idea.
report attached, but here's a few highlights (NOTE: PDF refuses to attach to this post. i will try again later)In a survey conducted between November 17 and December 22, 2023, 300 C-Suite leaders, senior executives, and mid-level managers across six industries in the entertainment sector were given the opportunity to provide their input. Questions centered on current and anticipated roles of GenAI, the technology’s effects on tasks and responsibilities, the creation and/or replacement of job roles and titles, and the perceived benefits and challenges of GenAI implementation.
You know, I thought that AI displacing jobs wouldn't happen in the creative field for a while, but this convinced me of the opposite. I am surprised that it is getting adopted this soon and this widely, I thought right now the tech still had kinks to work out before it would see an adoption at this scale. People compare the AI of now to NFT's but I have never seen NFT being adopted to this scale ever.last month the animation guild released a report on a survey about AI in the entertainment sector

finally, what was the biggest worry by animation executives and managers? regulation? copyright? misinformation?
lol no, it's concerns about AI being a "stochastic parrot", aka they're worried about AI producing results that aren't adjusted through proper wrong-think filters

the secret is that while nobodies and artistic hacks are having slap fights on twitter over naked anime girls, people who actually want to produce products for money are quietly trying out this newest round of machine learning tools and finding out that, yes, there actually are cases where it can produce 90% of the output for 10% of the effortI am surprised that it is getting adopted this soon and this widely, I thought right now the tech still had kinks to work out before it would see an adoption at this scale.
It's a retard litmus test. There is no similarity between them. The only people seriously comparing these two completely different concepts are retards who have all of their opinions given to them by the social media committee.People compare the AI of now to NFT's but I have never seen NFT being adopted to this scale ever.
Quite literally all it boils down to is being able to understand that technology is not static and is always improving. AI images a few years ago were tiny little pixel messes, then they were bigger and blurrier blotchy things, then they were deformed but recognizable things, then they were sharp but flawed with extra limbs and hands, then it was just the fingers, and now even that's mostly solved. The biggest "problems" now are issues like lighting simply being incorrect or it sometimes having wonky perspectives, but things like that are easily fine-tuned out. I've said it before and I'll say it again: AI is already being used in the creative sector. People just aren't admitting to it yet.even if there are plenty of flaws with AI tools right now, if you're willing to look at AI tools objectively it's easy to see these tools are going to be very important to a lot of industries in the very near future and if you don't start now you're going to be behind when they become the standard
AI will never be perfected by removing every flaw, it will be perfected when the flaws it has are no different than a human. The biggest "problems" now are issues like lighting simply being incorrect or it sometimes having wonky perspectives, but things like that are easily fine-tuned out.
Has anyone made it racist yet?AI will never be perfected by removing every flaw, it will be perfected when the flaws it has are no different than a human.
Also, existential dread alert.

Ah, just in time for the American election! Didn't these fucks learn anything from Metal Gear Solid 2?AI will never be perfected by removing every flaw, it will be perfected when the flaws it has are no different than a human.

Don't worry, they'll nerf this like Chat GTP and Bing Creator the moment us plebs start having fun with it, making Triumph of the Will II: Wrath of Hitler and Taylor Swift does the Kansas City Chiefs!A lot of seething, but I'm noticing a new trend: resignation.
All apologies, on mobile and can't capture much of anything, but some people are just straight giving up already while others like animation students are talking basic income and unionization. Still loads of seething too.
These people unironically thought AI peaked yesterday with Stable Diffusion and whatever that shitty Corridor Crew AI animation video was a while back and actually thought there was no point worrying because AI is a scam that got as good as it could ever get, and they're getting BTFOd by reality that Skynet doesn't give a shit what Twitter art troons think is the limit of AI technology so they can cope with their shitty proship art.
You know the funny thing is, I feel uncomfortable about this too because video evidence is fucked. But for movies and animation and shit? I'll still consume their slop regardless. I wouldn't even mind donating. If anything I hope artists get together and make their own no-AI alternative industry away from Homowood. That's literally a win win: custom AI movies for me and actual artistic films from artists.
Trying to fight this shit is clearly a lost cause and was from the start because artists arrived to the fight way too late, but it's only shutin losers who think this is the end of art altogether.
Can it make animated movies?Don't worry, they'll nerf this like Chat GTP and Bing Creator the moment us plebs start having fun with it, making Triumph of the Will II: Wrath of Hitler and Taylor Swift does the Kansas City Chiefs!
I mean that is an utterly ludicrous luddite comparison that makes no sense at all and is purely coping or wishful thinking or not understanding the technologies at hand. NFTs had one usage, and in almost all cases that usage was only teased and never even implemented. Ownership of a digital item, for example owning assets in a game that you could then trade. That's it. That was never even going to effect the job market? Whereas machine learning has multiple and varied use cases, which already are working and expanding that aren't merely theoretical. They're constantly in use, and people from hobbyist to big companies can tap into the tools. I don't need to list the ways machine learning can be used do I? Especially since Sora was revealed today. You know, I thought that AI displacing jobs wouldn't happen in the creative field for a while, but this convinced me of the opposite. I am surprised that it is getting adopted this soon and this widely, I thought right now the tech still had kinks to work out before it would see an adoption at this scale. When was it not? You can also use real people to fake evidence and other manipluation. Nothing new.because video evidence is fucked.
Nigga just draw shit for the Kiwis and you'll be golden. The opportunity for someone who isn't already established as an artist to create a new story/film/drawing and get the gratification of it being seen and appreciated by thousands of people is rapidly, rapidly closing.
That's pride fuckin' with you.but I imagine there is a certain kind of spiritual fulfillment and satisfaction of having your work become popular and appreciated by thousands of others across the world
I'd say that the one use NFTs had(scamming suckers out of their money) was implemented quite well.NFTs had one usage, and in almost all cases that usage was only teased and never even implemented.
Yeah, except before you had to hire lookalikes and use CGI to make them look even more similar to your victim, whereas now every schmuck with access to this technology will be able to generate a full-HD video clearly depicting the face of the victim. When was it not? You can also use real people to fake evidence and other manipluation. Nothing new.
I'm not sure I really agree with this. The opportunity for someone who isn't already established as an artist to create a new story/film/drawing and get the gratification of it being seen and appreciated by thousands of people is rapidly, rapidly closing
We also have threads dedicated to showing off non-AI works, and as far as I can tell, those are still going strong, just as many artists, both professional and online amateur, are continuing to post. But AI generated content just isn't the same!
