Ironic that wannabe commies seem to be such strong supporters of "intellectual property", such as copyright.ripoff
It seems to be starting to hit a point where it's going to get slightly better at making consistent images with diminishing returns over a long period. Major breakthroughs and endless investment are needed to fix these consistency and instruction-following defects, and even then it'll probably never be truly ironed out, at least with the current methods. Future methods may very well have similar problems, just the ability to spit out beautifully-shaded but fucked-up geometry slightly faster, at higher resolutions, and (for modalities with a time dimension) for longer durations.- snip -
I can honestly see why porn artists are freaking out. They have been able to coast on low-effort character requests for ages.Maybe someone has said this already, so apologies if that's the case: artists (and especially pornography """artists""", between quotes) are all angry because they see their income going away all thanks to a computer. Yet a machine has its uses, and whatnot. There is no reason for them to be upset.
AI will eventually completely wipe out the average/mediocre artist, but the really stand out and great ones will still be able to make a living off it. I think even the big artist know this and aren't TOO concerned but still cry about it just to virtue signal with their peers (also because they have nothing to lose by bitching about it)Maybe someone has said this already, so apologies if that's the case: artists (and especially pornography """artists""", between quotes) are all angry because they see their income going away all thanks to a computer. They should see this opportunity for they to get better, offer something else, or go into other areas.
We'll definitely have less people going into it but at the same time the ones who still do it will be of a better character for it, the amount of people getting into it solely for financial or social profit will be the biggest decrease. The bigger issue, I think, is that a great artist starts out as average. I could theoretically see a real problem with this stymieing the growth of some artists.
Of course, that can be instantly countered by the observation that the way the Internet rewards artists already does that for many people.
So long as you aren't using an art style with notable lighting/shadow gradients you could probably get Stable Diffusion to render your characters on a greenscreen equivalent to combine with something else, like environments created in Unity/Unreal/other 3D engine of choice with a few filters slapped on to match the look and feel of what Stable Diffusion is generating. Or, you could use the screenshots of the environment as the basis for img2img, scribble on rough poses for characters then run the thing with your character LoRAs through img2img and get a bit more consistency that way and not have to worry about the lighting other than how the model might naturally mess it up.However, as far as I know Stable Diffusion cannot make a consistent background at different angles for shit right now. So you can't really do a comic, for example. I would like to be proven wrong, though.
Their income going away is definitely a reason to be upset. Or if you're me, to laugh my ass off at what a bunch of pathetic losers they are and what shitty artists they are. Their tears are yummy. There is no reason for them to be upset.
Git gud.The bigger issue, I think, is that a great artist starts out as average. I could theoretically see a real problem with this stymieing the growth of some artists.
Yeah, that's a good point. I especially like how some of them became paragorns of virtue overnight.Their income going away is definitely a reason to be upset. Or if you're me, to laugh my ass off at what a bunch of pathetic losers they are and what shitty artists they are. Their tears are yummy.
Git gud.
Which you can't see anyway. It's just a concept.but it'll never have the heart or soul that an actual artist can put into it.
you say that like the hollywood boardrooms actually give a shit about what a person thinks about a project and not the fuckload of money it could make in the processbefore I realized that AI art is tomorrows hollywood boardroom. Sure, it's FUNCTIONAL, and will improve, but it'll never have the heart or soul that an actual artist can put into it.
I think you just captured the difference between an artist and a whore. An artist is not afraid of a soulless machine.\I worry about AI art taking away my easy money creating shlock garbage for the masses. I don't worry about AI art taking away my canvas for expression. Worst case scenario, I get a real job, oh darn. Can't stop me from creating for the love of it.
And yet you feel it on a depth that cannot be simulated.Which you can't see anyway. It's just a concept.
Yeah that's a point I wanted to bring up as well, you hear all these drawers and painters malding about AI and yet you don't hear a single fucking peep about musicians loosing their shit when AI audio comes around. Shit, if you want a fair comparison, you can prompt a AI bot with text right now and it'll spit out a song of your choosing, and even still you don't ever hear musicians complaining about AI taking their jobs. Now it could be argued that music as a creative medium is generally less valued compared to visual media, which is why artists drawing porn would be worried for their income compared to musicians who have come to accept that making a living for their audio work isn't feasible unless you have some other asset on you to make you more valuable for hire. But like Local Degenerate says, music has gone through a lot of interesting advancements over the years and I think AI really is the next step that opens up a lot of new avenues for musicians like what Autotune did when that came out. Also, not for nothing, but we've had computer singing for going on twenty years now, and now, with AI, we can make any voice sing any song like an angel. The fact is, I can go to youtube right now and look up Frank Sinatra singing any modern song I want, even cringe FNAF shit. And yet, I still see the full gambit of music every day. From actual passionate people belting their soul out, bringing tears even from my desiccated ass heart, down to nasal droning shit you hear on nig-stations.
