AI Art Seething General

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
It pisses me off when people at work show me something they made with ai. It's always someone borderline retarded showing me their little fictional world and roleplay profiles they made for all their imaginary friends. Just slop junk. Looks like crap too. You can always tell.
I also love how half the anti ai arguments are fucking nog tier "but i did eat breakfast today though". Yea congrats you have discovered that most conversations with coworkers is just meaningless slop. That's kinda how it works, if you had good and meaningful conversations with them then you would be calling them your friends not coworkers. Would you prefer them to go back to talking about the weather and other meaningless slop? People do things they think are cool and are proud of and want to share those things, unless you are clinically autistic then the normal response is to just go yea that's cool and leave it at that if you don't care. These people just want to show you something they enjoy, they're probably thinking the same thing about things you say to them too. They're literally just trying to start a conversation, if it wasn't with something they made with ai then it'd be about the weather or some whore they know that's pregnant or some office drama. Getting annoyed at people trying to make conversation with you is genuinely autistic.

I get how you feel, my mother does the same, takes two seconds to say 'that's cute' and leave it at that. You're just wasting your energy if that actually pisses you off.

Posted this a few times elsewhere on the site and seen it posted around but this video perfectly demonstrates how AI is going to find its way into professional workflows and just become a normal part of artistry in the future (Shocking, I know.)
What I realized about most anti-AI people is that they know literally nothing about AI. They think the only things you can do with AI is go onto some cloud service, ask it for something, and get a completed image that looks like every other shitty 'realistic' anime artstyle or slightly oversaturated live action image. The idea of local generation confuses them, things as basic as inpainting are totally alien to them, and AI still can't make fingers right. (Even though this hasn't been a problem for well over a year or two now.)

Thing is, AI can never make up for a lack of creativity. These creatives (granted, most of these fanatical anti-AI artists aren't creatives themselves) can never be replaced because they have the know how to establish the emotional connection with the audience necessary to make a piece of art engaging.
These people are actual fanatics, though. They aren't just unwilling to listen to reason or the blatant truth that we're not going to walk back the greatest technological advancement of the 21st century just for them, they outright do not care. It was never in good faith, never about being 'right'. Literal fanaticism over fucking AI generated pictures.
